Blood pressure monitor cuff, method for manufacturing the same, and blood pressure monitor
A blood pressure monitor cuff is formed by stacking an outer circumferential layer arranged on a side opposite to that of a measurement site and a fluid bladder arranged on the measurement site side. The outer circumferential layer and the fluid bladder are formed of an elastomer material. Two edge portions in a lengthwise direction of the outer circumferential layer protrude in a thickness direction toward the measurement site. The fluid bladder includes a base layer that opposes the outer circumferential layer and a top layer overlapping with the base layer, and the edge portions of the base layer and the top layer are welded together forming a bladder shape. Additional sheets are welded in the thickness direction to the welded edge portions of the top layer and the base layer. The fluid bladder is arranged between the two edge portions of the outer circumferential layer in the width direction.
Acupuncture needle packaging method and acupuncture needle
A method of acupuncture needle packaging includes inserting an acupuncture needle body of an acupuncture needle including an acupuncture needle handle at an upper portion thereof into an acupuncture needle tube starting from the acupuncture needle handle; disposing the acupuncture needle in the acupuncture needle tube in a state in which the upper portion of the acupuncture needle handle is exposed to an exterior of the acupuncture needle tube; ascending the upper portion of the acupuncture needle handle exposed to the exterior using a pressing jig; irradiating a laser to an area where the acupuncture needle tube and the acupuncture needle handle abut each other; and coupling the acupuncture needle handle and the acupuncture needle tube by thermally deforming the area where the acupuncture needle tube and the acupuncture needle handle abut each other with a heat generated by the laser.

Provided is a thermoplastic resin composition suitable for laser welding which has a laser transparency, a good laser weldability, mechanical properties, a high hydrolysis resistance, a laser-welded composite molded article such as a composite article obtained by laser-welding molded resin parts, and a method of laser welding such molded resin articles. The thermoplastic resin composition contains (A) polybutylene terephthalate, (B) polycarbonate, (C) reinforcing fiber, (D) epoxy compound, (E) carbodiimide compound, and (F) phosphorus-based stabilizer.
ROOM TEMPERATURE GLASS-TO-GLASS, GLASS-TO-PLASTIC AND GLASS-TO-GLASS CERAMIC/SEMICONDUCTOR BONDING
A process for room temperature substrate bonding employs a first substrate substantially transparent to a laser wavelength is selected. A second substrate for mating at an interface with the first substrate is then selected. A transmissivity change at the interface is created and the first and second substrates are mated at the interface. The first substrate is then irradiated with a laser of the transparency wavelength substantially focused at the interface and a localized high temperature at the interface from energy supplied by the laser is created. The first and second substrates immediately adjacent the interface are softened with diffusion across the interface to fuse the substrates.
Laser Part Retention System and Method
A system for laser processing includes a plate assembly having a first plate, a second plate secured to the first plate, and a pressure chamber located between the plates, a connector extending into and in fluid communication with the pressure chamber, and a fixture having a first end attached to the second plate of the plate assembly, a second end having surface having at least one opening and shaped to fit a part to be retained and laser processed, and a conduit extending therethrough in fluid communication with the pressure chamber and the at least one opening. During use, a pressure generated by a pump may be communicated to the conduit of the fixture through the pressure chamber to provide pressure (e.g., a suction effect) at the opening(s) to secure the part in place, e.g., with respect to another part, so they can be laser processed.
CONNECTION METHOD USING A LASER TRANSMISSION BONDING TECHNOLOGY, AN APPARATUS FOR BONDING AS WELL AS A PART MADE OF A LASER TRANSMISSIVE BONDED FIRST PLASTIC PART AND A SECOND PLASTIC PART
A method for connecting first and second plastic parts by a laser transmission bonding wherein the first plastic part absorbs laser light and the second plastic part is made of transparent plastic. The method includes the following steps: positioning the first plastic part in a first tool, positioning the second plastic part in a second tool so that the first plastic part and the second plastic part are spaced from each other thereby preventing mutual heat exchange between the parts, directing laser light through the second plastic part onto a connection zone of the first plastic part whereby the first plastic part is heated at least within the connection zone, after heating the first plastic part, moving the second plastic part into contact with the first plastic part, so that the second plastic part is firmly bonded to the first plastic part.
