Microfluidic circuit element comprising microfluidic channel with nano interstices and fabrication method thereof
A microfluidic circuit element comprising a microfluidic main channel and nano interstices is disclosed. The nano interstices are formed at both sides of the main channel and are in fluid communication with the main channel. The nano interstices have a height less than that of the main channel, gives more driving force of the microfluidic channel and provides stable flow of a fluid. The microfluidic circuit element may be made from a plastic material having a contact angle of 90 degrees or less. The microfluidic circuit element is particularly useful when filling a liquid sample to the channel which is empty or filled with air and shows greatly improved a storage stability.

ADHESIVE BONDLINE SPACER CLIP
A spacer clip for ensuring a minimum adhesive bond line thickness (T) during an attachment event with an adhesive, the spacer clip including: a spacer element having a thickness (t) defining the minimum bond line thickness, adapted to be arranged interleaved between a first vehicle part and a second vehicle part, a hold portion generally parallel with the spacer element and attached to the spacer element with an interconnecting portion. The spacer clip is mountable on the first vehicle part. The hold portion is adapted to be arranged on an opposite side of the first vehicle part compared to the spacer element. The spacer element and the hold portion are adapted to maintain a pressure on the first vehicle part such that the spacer clip can be mounted on the first vehicle part prior to the attachment event.
Shear Web Assembly Interconnected with Additive Manufactured Components
A method for assembling a shear web assembly of a wind turbine includes providing at least one spar cap. The method also includes forming a spar connecting member of a thermoplastic material via additive manufacturing. Further, the method includes securing the spar connecting member to the spar cap. Moreover, the method includes providing a shear web, forming a web connecting member of a thermoplastic material via additive manufacturing, and securing the web connecting member at a first end of the shear web. In addition, the method includes interconnecting the web connecting member and the spar connecting member at a joint. Thus, the method further includes heating the joint to secure the web connecting member and the spar connecting member together.
Verfahren zum Herstellen eines Faserverbund-Hohlbauteils und Faserverbund-Hohlbauteil
The invention relates to a method for producing a fiber-composite hollow component from a fiber-composite material which contains at least one fibrous material and one matrix material, wherein the fiber-composite hollow component is formed from at least two fiber-composite half-shells which in a joining edge region of the fiber-composite half-shells are joined to one another such that a cavity is configured between the joined-together fiber-composite half-shells, wherein the method comprises the following steps: providing a first fiber-composite half-shell formed from the fibrous material of the fiber-composite material, and at least one second fiber-composite half-shell formed from the fibrous material of the fiber-composite material; assembling the first fiber-composite half-shell and the at least second fiber-composite half-shell so as to form the fiber-composite hollow component; wherein at least one spacer element is inserted in the joining edge region between the first fiber-composite half-shell and the at least second fiber-composite half-shell; incorporating an internal vacuum cover in the cavity formed by the assembling of the fiber-composite half-shells, and incorporating the assembled fiber-composite half-shells in an external vacuum cover such that a component cavity having the fibrous material of the fiber-composite hollow component to be produced is formed between the internal vacuum cover and the external vacuum cover; evacuating the component cavity having the fibrous material; and curing the matrix material which embeds the fibrous material of the fiber-composite half-shells, in order for the fiber-composite hollow component to be produced.
System and method of manufacturing a wind turbine blade
A system and method for manufacturing at least a portion of a wind turbine blade is described. The invention relates to a method for ensuring a minimum bond line height between wind turbine blade components, through the use of adhesive spacer elements. The adhesive spacer elements are positioned between the blade components prior to bonding, and act to define a buffer or space between the bonding surfaces of the respective blade components, such that the adhesive bond line height between components can be effectively guaranteed without the need for accurate alignment and positioning techniques.
METHOD OF ACTIVATING ADHESIVES
A method of fastening a second object to a first object includes: providing the first object with an attachment surface; providing the second object; placing the second object relative to the first object, with a resin composition in between the attachment surface and the second object, wherein the resin composition has a resin having a first viscosity and being in a flowable state; pressing the first and second objects against each other and causing mechanical vibration to act on at least one of the objects until the resin composition experiences a vibration induced activation, which includes at least one of reduction of the viscosity of the resin compared to the first viscosity and activation of particles dispersed in the resin. The pressing and mechanical vibration are continued or repeated until the resin has at least partially cross-linked and the viscosity of the resin is increased compared to the first viscosity.
