Fiber optic connector with vented ferrule holder
A fiber optic connector includes a ferrule having a mating end and an insertion end and a ferrule holder having a first end portion in which the ferrule is received and a second end portion opposite the first end portion. The first end portion defines a first bore having a first bore width for receiving the ferrule. Additionally, the first end portion defines a bore surface and at least one groove formed in the bore surface. The at least one groove extends from where the insertion end of the ferrule is located within the first bore to a front face of the ferrule holder. Ridges are formed around the first bore because the at least one groove also extends in a circumferential direction. The ridges contact the ferrule and are deflected by the ferrule in a direction toward the insertion end of the ferrule.

A method of setting up a joining device for joining a cover lens to a housing of a vehicle lighting device. The joining device features a mounting fixture and a robot with a suction head, The method features at least the following steps: inserting a housing into the mounting fixture and a cover lens into the suction head; transferring the suction head to an initial joining pose; joining the cover lens to the housing with the suction head in the initial joining pose; measuring the pose of the cover lens relative to a reference-point system, which comprises reference points on the surface of the housing and/or the cover lens; determining a set of translations and/or rotations, which transfer the cover lens to an optimal pose with minimal deviations from a target pose; and correcting the initial joining pose of the suction head with the determined set of translations and/or rotations.

A connection element for adhering to a component surface of a first component, such that a second component can be secured to the first component by the connection element, including a base element having an adhesive side with an adhesive surface, and a mounting structure. The base element consists of a thermoplastic with a temperature of continued use of at least 130? C., which can be poorly irradiated or cannot be irradiated with light, and has at least one irradiation region. The base element can be irradiated with light in this region in such a way that light energy penetrates the base element. The irradiation region, in cross-section, has a smaller thickness and a transmittance at least 20% with a light wavelength between 320 and 500 nm. Alternatively, the irradiation region is formed by a through-opening.

The present invention provides a methacrylic resin composition for non-contact hot plate welding comprising a methacrylic resin comprising 80 to 99.9% by mass of a methacrylic acid ester monomer unit and 0.1 to 20% by mass of a unit of at least one additional vinyl monomer copolymerizable with the methacrylic acid ester monomer, wherein the methacrylic resin composition has a melt flow rate (MFR) of 2.5 g/10 min or lower at 230? C. at a load of 3.8 kg.

Said method comprising the steps of: providing a first member having at least one recess in a first surface portion, at least partially filling the recess with a joining component at least partially protruding from the first surface portion of the first member, arranging a second member having a second surface portion adjacent to the first member such that first and second surface portions thereof face towards each other to form an interface area between the first and the second members, wherein the joining component comprises a material different to the material of the first and/or second member wherein at least one channel structure extending along the interface area is formed by at least one deepening of the first member and/or of the second member, selectively providing thermal energy to the joining component to bond together first and second members.

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a plastic pedelec frame (1) by, preferably integrally, joining two matching plastic half-shells (2, 3), said pedelec frame being provided with receptacles (12, 13, 14) for a handlebar (4), a bottom bracket (5) and preferably a seat (6). The two plastic half shells (2, 3) are made from a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic material containing a partially aromatic polyamide, using an injection molding process. The invention also relates to a pedelec frame (1) manufactured by said method.

A microfluidic device comprises a first substrate (102) made of a first polymer material and a second substrate (104) made of a second polymer material, the first (102) and second (104) substrates having respective bonding surfaces (23, 41), at least one of the bonding surfaces (41) having channel formations (14) so that, when the bonding surfaces (23, 41) are bonded by surface deformation to one another, the bonded first and second substrates (102, 104) and the channel formations (14) form at least part of a microfluidic channel network comprising a plurality of microfluidic channels, wherein one or more indicator pits (11), separate to the channel formations (14) defining the microfluidic channel network, are formed in at least one of the bonding surfaces (23, 41), so that surface deformation caused by the bonding process causes a change of configuration of the one or more indicator pits (11).

There are provided a method and device for thermocompression bonding of possibly preventing any warping of a resin member to be caused by thermocompression bonding, and of possibly reducing the time to be taken for processing. The method for thermocompression bonding, includes: preheating a resin member using an infrared radiation section; and subjecting the resin member to thermocompression bonding using a heating section and a pressurization section.
