FAULT DIAGNOSIS IN A CONTINUOUS INK JET PRINTER
A system (93) monitors the break-up phase of an electrostatic deflection continuous ink jet printer to identify phase instability likely to be caused by a partial blockage of the jet-forming device (17). It ignores alternations between adjacent phase positions and brief unrepeated periods of phase disruption. Preferably it ignores phase changes caused by changes in other operational parameters of the printer, such as variations in ink pressure. Monitoring may be done in the printer (99) or in an external system (93), (95).
APPARATUSES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ELECTROHYDRODYNAMIC (EHD) MATERIAL DEPOSITION
Apparatuses, systems and methods are provided for electrohydrodynamic material deposition. An associated electro-hydrodynamic material deposition printer head may include a material delivery nozzle configured to deliver at least one material in a first direction relative to a substrate, and an electric field generator configured to control a direction of an electric field proximate the material being directed to redirect at least a portion of the at least one material in a second direction relative to the substrate, wherein the second direction is different that the first direction.
MASKLESS PAINTING AND PRINTING
An apparatus (and a corresponding operation method) for automated maskless painting of an external paint on a complex surface using a coloring agent, wherein the complex surface is part of an aircraft. The apparatus comprises a multi-axis robot comprising at least one applicator for the coloring agent, wherein the at least one applicator is configured to apply the coloring agent to the complex surface using a coloring agent ejection technology.
RECORDING APPARATUS AND RECORDING METHOD
In a recording apparatus, the quality of an image is improved.
A recording apparatus is provided with a droplet discharging head having a nozzle forming portion and a charging unit. The nozzle forming portion includes nozzles formed therein. The charging unit is configured to impart an electrical charge to the medium. The charging unit imparts, to the medium, an electrical charge having the same polarity as an electrically charged state of the nozzle forming portion after the droplets are discharged.

Method for optimizing a printing speed of a CIJ printer, in particular for printing 2D or graphical codes
A printed graphical code has H lines and a W columns i (i=1, . . . W) and a pattern of H×W cells, each at the intersection of a column and a line. Each cell or dot is formed with a drop from a printhead of a continuous inkjet printer and two successive dots of a column are separated by at least one non printed cell. A method for printing each column comprises: retrieving or selecting charges to be applied to each drop for printing the dots of the column from a set of data or database of charges for each of a number of configurations of drops to be printed, the number being equal to or less than 2.sup.(H/2)+1 if H is an even number or equal to or less than 2.sup.((H+1)/2)+1 if H is an odd number; charging the drops for printing according to the retrieved charges; and printing the column.
Inkjet Printer, Time Synchronization Method Therefor, and Setting Screen Using Same
When printing on the same printing object with multiple print nozzles in the past, consideration was not given to cases in which the time relationships of the set times and times-to-be-printed become mismatched between the respective print items of the print nozzles. To solve said problem, the present invention is an inkjet printer for printing on a conveyed printing object and having multiple print nozzles, multiple auxiliary control units for controlling the printing performed by the multiple print nozzles, and a common main control unit connected to the multiple auxiliary control units via communication means. The main control unit is configured to be equipped with: an extracting function for extracting the time relationship of the set times and the time relationship of the times-to-be-printed between the items to be printed by the respective print nozzles of the multiple print nozzles; and a revising function for revising the print data so as to preserve the time relationship of the set times.
Cartridge-type inkjet recording device
The objective of the present invention is to provide a cartridge-type inkjet recording device that can accurately and easily connect a cartridge-type replenishing liquid bottle to an inkjet recording device. This cartridge-type inkjet recording device having a liquid reservoir to which a replenishing liquid bottle can be attached/removed is characterized by the liquid reservoir having: a liquid replenishment opening for replenishing liquid from the cartridge-type replenishing liquid bottle; a cam that is provided to the periphery of the liquid replenishment opening, engages a portion of the cartridge-type replenishing liquid bottle, and moves the cartridge-type replenishing liquid bottle in the vertical direction; and a cam operation section that operates the cam.
