A tyre for a motorcycle includes a tread portion. The tread portion includes a crown longitudinal groove extending in a tyre circumferential direction on a side of a tyre equator, a shoulder longitudinal groove extending in the tyre circumferential direction on a side of a first tread edge, and a middle groove arranged between the crown longitudinal groove and the shoulder longitudinal groove. The middle groove includes a plurality of middle main groove portions arranged in the tyre circumferential direction and each protruding toward the tyre equator or the first tread edge. Each of the middle main groove portions is formed in a bent line shape or in an arc shape. Each of the middle main groove portions includes a shallow bottom portion having a groove depth smaller than a maximum groove depth of the shoulder longitudinal groove and a maximum groove depth of the crown longitudinal groove.

In a shoulder land portion of the tread, a thickness of the cap layer at a center of an axial width is less than a thickness of the cap layer on the shoulder circumferential groove side.

A resonator 21 is formed in an intermediate land portion 20 partitioned between the first circumferential main groove and the second circumferential main groove. The resonator has an auxiliary groove 211 whose both ends terminate within the intermediate land portion. The groove depths D1 of the first and second circumferential main grooves are 50% or less of the groove widths W2 of the first and second circumferential main grooves, respectively. The groove depth D3 of the auxiliary groove of the resonator is 70% or more of the groove depth D1 of the first circumferential main groove.

A pneumatic tire includes: a plurality of shoulder blocks that are provided in a side portion, defined by a shoulder main groove extending in a tire circumferential direction and a shoulder lateral groove extending in a tire width direction, and disposed side by side in the tire circumferential direction; a rib that is provided in the side portion, and extends in the tire circumferential direction along the shoulder blocks; and a projection that is provided in the side portion, and extends from the rib toward the shoulder blocks.

A pneumatic tire (10) has, in the surface of the tread (11), a central circumferential groove (12) located at the center of the contact patch width and extending circumferentially around the tire, a plurality of longitudinal grooves (13 (13a, 13b)) formed on the axially outside of the central circumferential groove (12), lug grooves (15), and blocks (16 (16a to 16c)) defined by the central circumferential groove (12), the longitudinal grooves (13), and the lug grooves (15). Each of the lug grooves (15) is formed such that its width in the shoulder region is greater than its width in the central region, and the sum of the groove area of the central circumferential groove (12) and the groove area of the longitudinal grooves (13) is smaller than the area of the lug grooves (15). As a result, the pneumatic tire (10) not only secures the wet braking performance and wear resistance performance on paved roads, but also improves the acceleration performance and braking performance and the steering stability performance on snowy roads.
