In a pneumatic tire, a tread portion is provided with center blocks and shoulder blocks, and sidewall portions are each provided with side blocks. Surfaces of the blocks are provided with groove elements each including a narrow groove and/or a sipe. The first groove elements provided in the side blocks, the second groove elements provided in the shoulder blocks, and the third groove elements provided in the center blocks form a set of lateral groove group extending continuously from the side block on a first side to the side block on a second side in the tire lateral direction along the blocks across a main groove or an auxiliary groove.

Tyre

A tyre includes a tread portion provided with circumferentially extending main grooves and land portions. The main grooves include an outboard crown main groove, and an inboard crown main groove. The land portions include a crown land portion defined between the outboard crown main groove and the inboard crown main groove. The crown land portion is provided with first crown sipes having first ends connected to the outboard crown main groove and second ends terminating within the crown land portion, and second crown sipes having first ends connected to the inboard crown main groove and second ends terminating within the crown land portion, wherein the first crown sipes are inclined with respect to a tyre axial direction in a same direction as the second crown sipes, and the first crown sipes and the second crown sipes are different in angle with respect to the tyre axial direction.

A pneumatic tire includes: a main groove extending in a tire circumferential direction disposed on a shoulder region of a tread portion; lug grooves extending from the main groove toward an outer side and reaching a side wall portion; and blocks demarcated by the main groove and lug grooves. An edge on an innermost side in a tire radial direction of the blocks is positioned more on an outer side in the tire radial direction than a tire maximum width position, and a ratio of an orthogonal distance from a ground contact end position to the edge on an innermost side in the tire radial direction of the blocks is 0.2 or more. Recessed portions each having a closed periphery are provided in a side region more on an outer side in a tire width direction than the ground contact end of the blocks.

Tread for a Winter Pneumatic Tire and a Winter Pneumatic Tire

Tread (1) for a pneumatic tyre, comprising a sequence of tread elements (5) forming an overall “V” shape with two lateral wings (7, 7′), each of said wings being formed from three tread blocks (11, 21, 31) separated therebetween by first and second grooves (15, 16); said three tread blocks (11,21,31) comprise at least one shoulder block (11) provided with at least a first sipe (111) having a “zig-zag” shape; each shoulder block (11) further comprises a channel (112) with a longitudinally evolution which extends on the shoulder block (11), until it reaches and emerges upon the corresponding second groove (15); the channel (112) with a longitudinal evolution comprises an end portion (300, 301) that opens onto said second groove (15), said end portion (300) having a variable depth, said terminal portion having at least one inclined portion (300) wherein the depth gradually decreases from the outside towards the inside of the pneumatic tyre, as the interface with this second groove (15) approaches.
