A method for operating a pressure control system having a multistage compressor includes outputting, by the multistage compressor in order to fill a pressure medium store or pressure medium chambers of the pressure control system, a pressure medium compressed multiple times. Outputting the pressure medium compressed multiple times includes providing, by a first compression stage, a precompressed pressure medium and further compressing, by a second compression stage, the precompressed pressure medium to form a compressed pressure medium and then outputting the compressed pressure medium. Alternatively, outputting the pressure medium compressed multiple times includes providing a compression pressure medium, which is obtained from additional compression of an already compressed charge pressure medium from the pressure medium reservoir or the pressure medium chambers of the pressure control system, wherein the compression pressure medium is output without additional compression by the second compression stage.

A mechanical bypass for a shock assembly is disclosed herein. The assembly has a damper chamber having a compression portion and a rebound portion. There is further an external reservoir in fluid communication with the rebound portion of the damper chamber via a flow path. A valve is coupled with the flow path, the valve to meter a flow of the working fluid through the flow path. A bypass port to the external reservoir is provided in the flow path and bypasses the valve. A mechanical relief valve is provided in the bypass port to block a fluid flow though the bypass port until a blow-off pressure that is higher than a normal operating pressure and less than a burst pressure of the damping chamber is provided thereon.

AIR-SPRING ASSEMBLY

An air-spring assembly includes a flexible bellows extending from a top end to a bottom end and enclosing an air-spring chamber between the top end and the bottom end, a first panel partially defining the air-spring chamber and movable in response to a pressure of the air-spring chamber, an enclosure partially defining a working chamber fluidly isolated from the air-spring chamber, a second panel partially defining the working chamber and movable relative to the enclosure, and a linkage member fixed relative to the first panel and to the second panel and defining a fixed distance between the first panel and the second panel. The top and bottom ends are fixable to a frame and a wheel of a vehicle, respectively. A volume of the air-spring chamber varies with movement of the bottom end relative to the top end. Movement of the second panel changes a volume of the working chamber.
