The shade is displaceable along the guideway between a first use position projecting from the first open lateral end, a second use position projecting form the second open lateral end and an intermediate stowed position. A method of shielding an occupant of a motor vehicle from sunlight passing through a first side window and a second side window is also described.

A curtain device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a first shade bar. A first shade roller is disposed within the first shade bar and a hook portion is provided in an upper side of the first shade bar. A first curtain member has a first transmissivity. One end of the first curtain member is rolled into the first shade roller and an opposite end of the first curtain member is exposed to a bottom of the first shade bar. A second shade bar is adjacent the bottom of the first shade bar. A second shade roller is configured to be disposed inside a door body that is formed in a lower portion of the door frame. A second curtain member having a second transmissivity has one end connected to the second shade bar and an opposite end rolled into the second shade roller.

An apparatus for shielding an occupant of a motor vehicle from sunlight passing through the side windows of the motor vehicle includes a guideway and a shade. The guideway includes a first open lateral end and a second open lateral end. An embodiment hook assembly for a door curtain to be installed on a door panel of a vehicle, the hook assembly includes a hook body installed to penetrate a through hole formed in the door panel, and a hook pin having an upper end hinge-connected to an upper portion of the hook body, wherein in a state in which an upper portion of the hook pin is completely inserted into the hook body, a part of the hook body is in an opened state and the hook body is locked to a circumference of the through hole such that the hook body is fastened to the through hole.
