A brake device comprises: an outer race having a cylindrical inner peripheral surface; a plurality of brake shoes disposed at a radially inner side of the outer race and arranged in a circumferential direction, each brake shoe having a pair of brake surfaces facing the inner peripheral surface and configured to be contactable with the inner peripheral surface and an inside surface facing radially inward; an output-side rotary member disposed at a radially inner side of the brake shoes, having an opposed surface provided at an outer periphery thereof and facing the inside surface; and an input-side rotary member configured to contact the brake shoes in the circumferential direction and thereby capable of imparting a rotary torque to the brake shoes. The brake shoe has a support surface disposed between the brake surfaces and configured to be contactable with the inner peripheral surface.

Seat height adjustment actuator

An actuator includes a pinion engaging a seat height adjustment mechanism. A brake drum fixed to the seat defines an outer brake race. A brake hub integrated with the pinion, rotatable in the brake drum, defines an inner brake race. Rolling brake elements between the brake races lock the brake hub to the brake drum in the absence of actuator input. A clutch drum covers the brake races, defines an outer clutch race, and includes clutch tabs to displace the rolling brake elements, unlocking the brake hub, responsive to actuator input. A driver cam rotatable within the clutch drum defines an inner clutch race. Rolling clutch elements in the clutch races transmit actuator input to the clutch drum and permit rotation of the driver cam relative to the clutch drum in the absence of actuator input. An exterior cup fixed to the brake drum defines a housing for the actuator.

Torque transfer control mechanism and seat structure

A torque transfer control mechanism that suppresses output-side displacement, and including a rotation control unit that maintains a locked state when an input torque rotating a transfer mechanism is not applied, and releases the locked state when the transfer mechanism rotates. The rotation control unit includes an internal gear and lock plates that include outer teeth that can engage with inner teeth of the internal gear. When an input torque is not applied, the inner teeth of the internal gear engage with the outer teeth of the lock plates, and when the transfer mechanism is rotated, engagement between the inner teeth and the outer teeth is released. Thus, even when torque is applied from the output unit side, engagement between the inner teeth and the outer teeth is not released by the torque.

The brake mechanism includes a bracket (8), and the bracket has a plurality of fastening components (9) that can be separately fixed corresponding to each of the mounting holes and cannot rotate with respect to the bracket (8). Each fastening component has a connecting end (91) connected to the bracket. The clutch mechanism includes a cover (1) having an outer diameter enlarged with respect to each of the connecting ends. The cover is combined corresponding with the bracket and partially or completely obscuring the connecting ends. Thereby the structure strength of the seat height adjusting device can be enhanced, and the seat height adjusting device can be installed and fixed to the seat in a general manner.

The inner ring includes a slide gear which meshes with the cover during interruption of the rotational torque and is released from the meshing state during transmission of the rotational torque.
