Vehicle Seating Systems

An alternative seating arrangement of a vehicle with a variety of vehicle restraints and occupant safety systems that are associated with the alternative seating arrangement. Many embodiments include rear facing and side facing seats.

ADJUSTABLE SEAT ASSEMBLY

A seat assembly includes a track assembly having a swivel mechanism slideably supported along the track assembly. A base frame is supported on the swivel mechanism between forward-facing and rearward-facing configurations. A seatback is pivotally coupled to the base frame by a recliner mechanism. A seat portion is pivotally coupled to the base frame and includes a front edge. The seat portion is operable between first and second positions, such that the front edge of the seat portion defines a forward-most portion of the seat assembly when the seat portion is in the first position. Further, the front edge of the seat portion is vertically juxtaposed over the base frame when the seat portion is in the second position.

PIVOTING SEAT ASSEMBLY

A seat assembly includes a mounting plate and a base frame rotatable mounted on the mounting plate by a swivel mechanism for swiveling the seat assembly between forward-facing and rearward-facing configurations. A seat portion is operably coupled to the base frame and includes a front edge. The seat portion can be pivoted between use and upright non-use positions. The seat assembly includes a first rotational footprint when the seat portion is in the use position and a second rotational footprint that is less than the first rotational footprint when the seat portion is in the upright non-use position. The second rotational footprint is intended to accommodate swiveling of the seat assembly between the forward-facing and rearward-facing configurations within a vehicle interior.

ADJUSTABLE SEAT ASSEMBLY

A seat assembly includes a base frame and first and second guide brackets coupled to opposed sides of the base frame. The first and second guide brackets each include slots disposed therethrough. First and second support brackets are slideably mounted to the slots of the first and second guide brackets, respectively. A seat portion includes a seat frame that is pivotally coupled to the first and second support brackets at opposed first and second ends of the seat frame. The seat frame is configured to pivot with respect to the first and second support brackets between use and upright non-use positions. The base frame is rotatably supported on a swivel mechanism for rotation of the seat assembly between forward-facing and rearward-facing configurations.

Vehicle cabin

A vehicle includes a track that defines a guide channel and a bridge that extends over the guide channel when the bridge is in a closed position. The bridge includes a first portion that is releasably coupled to a second portion. The first portion is pivotably engaged with a first side of the track.

Integrated safety seat for infants and small children

A safety seat for an occupant includes a front shell secured to a bulkhead. The front shell has an outer edge and an inner edge. The inner edge defines an opening. The safety seat includes a seat base having a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The seat base has a first position and a second position. In the first position, the first side is flush with the inner edge and in the second position; the second side supports the occupant.

The present invention relates to a vehicle sheet with a seat back which is provided with a urethane pad covered with a trim cover, and a pressing unit on the reverse side of the urethane pad covered with the trim cover, the pressing unit being formed with a shaft extending laterally and a pair of pressure portions arranged in the vertical direction with respect to the shaft to support both the upper and lower sides of the urethane pad by detecting the intermediate position of turning movement of the pressing unit by means of a turning movement detection unit and stopping the turning movement of the pressing unit, or is configured to press forward the upper side of the urethane pad using the upper pressure portion or the lower side of the urethane pad using the lower pressure portion by turning the laterally-extending shaft of the pressing unit.

VEHICLE SEAT

A vehicle seat in the present disclosure includes a seat cushion; a seatback; a sliding device configured to slidably support a seat main body that includes the seat cushion and the seatback; a first locking mechanism configured to restrict a sliding movement of the seat main body when the seat cushion and the seatback are placed in an occupiable state; a tip-up mechanism configured to rotationally displace the seat cushion in conjunction with a frontward tilting movement of the seatback; and a second locking mechanism configured to restrict a sliding movement of the seat main body when an elevation angle of the seat cushion exceeds a preset angle by an operation of the tip-up mechanism.

Stowable seat with backrest release

A stowable seat for an aircraft may comprise a housing and a backrest support configured to rotate relative to the housing. A locking mechanism comprising a first latch may be coupled to the backrest support. A releasing member may be in operable communication with the first latch. The releasing member may be configured to rotate the first latch relative to the backrest support. The releasing member may be located behind a cushion coupled to the backrest support.

Internally tensioned inflatable structures

An inflatable system includes a bladder configured to contain fluid, a first plurality of tethers disposed within a first region of the bladder, and a second plurality of tethers disposed within a second region of the bladder. The first plurality of tethers has a first tether length, a first tether spacing, a first tether angle relative to one wall of the bladder, and a first tether stiffness. The second plurality of tethers has a second tether length, a second tether spacing, a second tether angle relative to the one wall, and a second tether stiffness. At least one of: the second tether length is different than the first tether length; the second tether spacing is different than the first tether spacing; the second tether angle is different than the first tether angle; and the second tether stiffness is different than the first tether stiffness.
