VEHICLE SEATING SYSTEM
20210078474 · 2021-03-18 ·

A seating system for a vehicle includes a seat-back frame and a backboard attached to the seat-back frame. An attachment arrangement includes an elongated member attached to the seat-back frame and the backboard, and is configured to remain attached to the seat-back frame and the backboard by plastically deforming when the seat-back frame and the backboard are subjected to a separation force of a predetermined magnitude greater than a magnitude otherwise required to detach the elongated member from the backboard.

Wrap around seatbelt

A vehicle seat and safety assembly includes a seat cushion, a seatback, and a wraparound seatbelt system to restrain an occupant in rear, side and rollover crashes. The seat cushion is connected to a vehicle floor. The seatback is connected to the seat cushion. The wraparound belt has a first strap end, a second strap end, and a strap, net or supporting body extending between the first strap end and the second strap end to direct restraining forces from an occupant through the seat to the vehicle floor or structure. The strap, net, or supporting body extends at least partially through or is integrated with the seatback and may incorporate pretensioning, load-limiting and other features to increase and control occupant restraint in non-frontal crashes.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INHIBITING REAR COLLISIONS
20210061265 · 2021-03-04 ·

Methods and systems for deterring rear collisions and/or mitigating the damage caused therefrom are provided. When the host vehicle is slowing down, coming to a stop, or stopped, and the system senses that an external vehicle in the rear is approaching at an unsafe speed, an external warning system can be activated to attempt to gain the attention of the driver of the external vehicle. If the external vehicle continues to approach at an unsafe speed such that a collision seems likely or inevitable, a brace sequence within the host vehicle can be activated to reduce injury to occupants of the host vehicle.

HEADREST
20210213862 · 2021-07-15 ·

The invention relates to a headrest comprising a base (13) and a head-support part (16) having a guide assembly (18, 52) connected to the head-support part (16) and is connected to the base (13) that moves the head-support part (16) relative to the base (13) in a direction (x.sub.1) toward the seat occupant's head and in the opposite direction (x.sub.2) between a rear normal position and a frontmost extended position.

Vehicle seat console

A vehicle seat console has at least one vehicle-mounted guiding element, at least one seat-mounted guiding element that runs parallel to the vehicle-mounted guiding element, and a longitudinal adjustment mechanism on which a driving device acts via a transmission mechanism and which is designed to cause a relative adjustment between the vehicle-mounted guiding element and the seat-mounted guiding element. The vehicle seat console is characterized in that the longitudinal adjustment mechanism and/or the transmission mechanism is/are equipped with at least one energy absorption device which is configured to dampen abrupt relative movements between the vehicle-mounted guiding element and the seat-mounted guiding element.

REAR OCCUPANT IMPACT ABSORPTION ASSEMBLY

An impact absorption assembly for a seat back is provided having a deformation zone as least partially disposed above a top surface of a seat back structure. The deformation zone deforms plastically upon an impact from a rearward direction.

Composite seat assemblies including high performance fibers

A head-pan diaphragm structure attachable to or an integral part of a seat back structure, the head-pan diaphragm structure including high-performance fibers and the head-pan diaphragm structure positionable in a head strike target area of the seat back structure. A seat back assembly including a seat back frame member including spaced portions, a torsion bar attached between the spaced portions, a head-pan diaphragm structure positioned in a framed opening formed by the torsion bar and a portion of the seat back frame member, the head-pan diaphragm structure positioned in a head strike target area, and the head-pan diaphragm member including integrated high-performance fibers.

REVERSIBLE V SLEEPING SEAT

An adjustable seat for a vehicle including a first seat section configured to support a lower leg portion of the passenger when the passenger is sitting facing the first direction and a second seat section configured to support an upper leg portion of the passenger when the passenger is sitting facing the first direction and a torso and head portion of the passenger when the passenger is sitting facing the second direction. The adjustable seat also comprising a third seat section configured to support the torso and head portion of the passenger when the passenger is sitting facing the first direction and the upper leg portion of the passenger when the passenger is sitting facing the second direction. The adjustable seat also comprising a fourth seat section configured to support the lower leg portion of the passenger when the passenger is sitting facing the second direction.

Longitudinal adjuster and vehicle seat

A longitudinal adjuster (10) for a vehicle seat (1) includes at least one rail pair (12) with a longitudinal direction (x) relatively sliding and engaging first seat rail (14), for connecting to a seat frame side part (6), and a second seat rail (16), for connecting to a vehicle structure. A first clamping element (20), fastened to the first seat rail and a second clamping element (22), fastened to the second seat rail are usually spaced apart from each other and engage with each other, in response to a defined application of force, for example in the event of a crash. The first clamping element has a connection section (24), which can be connected to a surface (8) of a seat frame side part (6) directed toward the rear. The vehicle seat includes the longitudinal adjuster and a seat frame side part, which is connected to a first seat rail.

SEAT BACKREST
