Assembly, method for assembling and disassembling such an assembly, and external rear view device and vehicle with such an assembly
An assembly includes a head assembly for an external rear view device to be attached to a motor vehicle, a lower casing element, an upper casing element, an articulation assembly, a bezel assembly for carrying at least one rear view element, and a hinge connection between the bezel assembly and a first sub assembly provided by at least the lower casing, the articulation assembly and attachment means with the articulation assembly being mounted on the attachment means or the attachment means being mounted on the articulation assembly.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR VEHICULAR NAVIGATION OF NARROW GAPS
A vehicle is provided. The vehicle includes a plurality of sensors including a first sensor and a second sensor. The vehicle also includes a vehicle controller. The vehicle controller is programmed to (i) collect a first plurality of sensor information observed by the first sensor during operation of the vehicle; (ii) analyze the first plurality of sensor information to detect a gap along the vehicle's path of travel; (iii) compare one or more dimensions of the gap to one or more dimensions of the vehicle; (iv) receive a second plurality of sensor information from the second sensor; and (v) control the vehicle to travel through the gap based on the comparison of the one or more dimensions of the gap to the one or more dimensions of the vehicle and the second plurality of sensor information from the second sensor.
Exterior rearview mirror assembly
An exterior rearview mirror assembly configured for mounting at a vehicle includes a mounting arm, an electrically operated actuator at one end of the mounting arm, an attachment portion at the other end of the mounting arm, and an exterior mirror head movable relative to the mounting arm via the actuator. The exterior mirror head includes an exterior mirror reflective element attached at an attachment plate of the exterior mirror head. The exterior mirror reflective element attached at the attachment plate moves in tandem with movement of the exterior mirror head relative to the mounting arm when the driver of the equipped vehicle operates the actuator. The attachment plate of the exterior mirror head includes wall structure that extends from the front side of the attachment plate. No part of the exterior mirror head encroaches onto or overlaps the outermost side of the exterior mirror reflective element.

EXTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY
A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a base portion configured for attachment at a side of a vehicle, and a mirror head having a mirror reflective element and an electrically-operable mirror actuator. The base portion extends through an aperture in the mirror head. The mirror head includes wall structure that circumscribes and spans a perimeter circumferential edge of a glass substrate of the mirror reflective element. The mirror actuator is operable to adjust the mirror head relative to the base portion, and the aperture allows for movement of the mirror head relative to the base portion. The mirror head includes an electrically-operable accessory that moves together and in tandem with the mirror actuator and the mirror reflective element when the mirror actuator is electrically operated. The accessory, when electrically operated, meets a performance requirement throughout a range of adjustment of the mirror head relative to the base portion.
