An airbag device includes an airbag that is supplied with gas during a vehicle collision, and that inflates and deploys from a rear side of a vehicle seat toward a front side via an upper side thereof. In an inflated and deployed state the airbag includes a pair of front-rear chambers extending in a front-rear direction via left and right sides of the head of a passenger, and an airbag body in communication with the pair of front-rear chambers, that is disposed at a front side of the passenger between the pair of front-rear chambers, and that is compression deformed in a state supported by the pair of front-rear chambers during restraint of the passenger. The airbag is configured such that entry of at least the head of the passenger into gaps between the front-rear chambers and the airbag body is suppressed during a latter half of restraining the passenger.
MOUNTING MEMBER AND AIRBAG MODULE-EQUIPPED SEAT
An easy-to-attach clip member that makes the surroundings of a stay cloth mounting portion compact while maintaining high airbag deployment performance, and an airbag module-equipped seat with the clip member are provided. A clip member is connected to a cloth-form body that transmits a tensile force. The clip member includes a connecting portion connected to one end of the cloth-form body, and a groove engaged with an edge portion of a mounted portion. The clip member is provided to reduce a torque generated at the connecting portion by the tensile force transmitted from the cloth-form body when engaged with the edge portion of the mounted portion, and connects the cloth-form body to the mounted portion.
A Removable Car Seat Cover Having A Predetermined Pre-Weakened Failure Zone Of A Known Bursting Strength For Facilitating Reliable Airbag Deployment
A removable car seat cover for a car seat having an integral side airbag including a side panel having a predetermined pre-weakened failure zone that is pretreated by controlled laser ablation of the side panel. The pre-weakened failure zone is located at or adjacent to an airbag deployment area of a car seat when the car seat cover is installed on the car seat, and is in the form of an elongate strip extending along the side panel. The pre-weakened failure zone has a known bursting strength to thereby facilitate reliable deployment of the side airbag from the car seat as a result of tearing of the pre-weakened zone when the removable car seat cover is installed thereon.
Side airbag deployment direction control structure
A side airbag deployment direction control structure includes an airbag module installed at the vehicle width direction outer side of a door-side side frame portion. During inflation and deployment of a side airbag of airbag module, a stitched portion between a front cover and a front side cover of a seat cover ruptures under inflation pressure of the side airbag. This forms an opening for the side airbag to inflate and deploy to the outer side of a seatback. Note that the stitched portion is provided further to the seat width direction inner side than a center of the inflator. Further, a reaction force plate is positioned at the vehicle width direction outer side of the airbag module and includes a side reaction force face of which a front end portion extends further toward the vehicle front side than the airbag module and the door-side side frame portion.

In an inflated and deployed state, the airbag includes a pair of front-rear chambers extending in a front-rear direction via left and right sides of a head of a passenger, an airbag body that is in communication with the pair of front-rear chambers and that is disposed at a seat front side of the passenger between the pair of front-rear chambers, and a pair of rear tethers including one-end portions attached to the airbag body and other-end portions attached to a seatback. At a time of restraint of the passenger, the airbag body is pulled by the rear tethers obliquely rearward and downward such that the front-rear chambers press shoulders of the passenger from a seat upper side.
Structure for receiving an inflatable airbag and vehicle seat with such a structure
The invention relates to a structure for receiving an inflatable airbag 25 which is located in a housing of an airbag module 21, with a decorative cover 1 for covering a component of a vehicle seat 4, wherein the decorative cover 1 has a front decorative cover area 2 and a rear decorative cover area 3, wherein the front decorative cover area 2 and the rear decorative cover area 3 are connected to each other in the area of their edge sections via a first connection 5 which can be released when the airbag 25 is deployed, wherein the front decorative cover area 2 has a first outer surface 6 and a first inner surface 7 and the rear decorative cover area 3 has a second outer surface 8 and a second inner surface 9, with a first support bar 10 made of a rigid material, which has at least one through hole 15 for receiving a connection pin 24 which is formed on the housing of the airbag module 21, and which has fastening means for fastening a first protective sheet 16, wherein the first support bar 10 has a front area 11 which, in the installed position, lies in front of the at least one through hole 15 in the direction of travel, with a first protective sheet 16 which has a third outer surface 17 and a third inner surface 18, wherein the first protective sheet 16 is made of a material which is tear-resistant when the airbag 25 is deployed, wherein the first protective sheet 16 is connected to the first support bar 10 in its front area via a second connection 12 which cannot be released when the airbag is deployed, such that its third inner surface 18 faces the first support bar 10, and the first protective sheet 16 is connected to the front decorative cover area via a third connection 19 which cannot be released when the airbag 25 is deployed, such that the third inner surface 18 of the first protective sheet 16 is opposite the first inner surface 7 of the front decorative cover area 2 in the area of its edge sections. The invention also relates to a vehicle seat 4 which comprises a corresponding structure, as well as a method for assembling an airbag 25 in a vehicle seat 4 and a use of a documentation-capable assembly device for checking the correct positioning and the proper fixing of an airbag module 21 and a protective sheet 16, 32 to a vehicle seat 4.
SIDE AIRBAG DEVICE
A side airbag device includes a folded-up airbag and a limitation member disposed around the airbag for constraining the airbag from protruding forward at airbag deployment. The limitation member is formed of a flexible sheet member into a band shape, and is joined to the folded-up airbag by the opposite end regions. The limitation member includes a loose region which is arranged around the folded-up airbag in such a manner as to be remote from the folded-up airbag. The loose region is disposed on a side of the folded-up airbag towards which the airbag protrudes. The loose region includes a tearable region in the region in a deployment direction of the airbag.
Side bolster assembly having an airbag
A side bolster assembly for mounting in a vehicle. The side bolster assembly may include a carrier that may have a pocket. The pocket may receive an airbag module that may have an inflatable airbag. A cushion may extend across the pocket. A guide member may guide the airbag around the cushion upon inflation.
Seat frame
Provided is a readily-attached seat frame that has a compact periphery of a stay cloth attachment portion while maintaining a high deployment performance of an airbag. A seat frame is provided in which an airbag module is disposed in a seat back frame. The seat back frame is provided with a guide member end attachment member that locks ends of guide members for facilitating the deployment of an airbag provided in the airbag module, and the attachment positions of the guide members in the guide member end attachment member are disposed at the inside of the seat back frame in relation to the attachment position of the airbag module 6.
