KNITTED SEAT TRIM COVER WITH INTEGRAL AIRBAG POCKET
A knitted seat trim cover for use on a vehicle seat equipped with an airbag assembly includes a first knitted panel with a first edge and a second knitted panel with a second edge. The first edge is positioned adjacent the second edge to define an airbag deployment zone. The seat trim cover also includes a pocket panel integrally knit with the first knitted panel and the second knitted panel. The pocket panel defines an airbag pocket configured to hold at least a portion of the airbag assembly.
Airbag assembly
An airbag assembly, which is capable of facilitating a deployment of a deployment part when a passenger seat airbag is deployed, and preventing a damage of a hinge part includes: a deployment part turned and opened when an airbag disposed inside a crash pad is deployed; a hinge part fixing the deployment part to the crash pad; and a plurality of hinge protection structures formed at one end of the hinge part in order to set a deployment direction of the airbag. Each of the plurality of hinge protection structures may include a load pass hole formed at the opposite surface of a surface facing the airbag, and distributes stress applied to the hinge part when the airbag is deployed.
MOUNTING TAB ASSEMBLIES FOR SECURING AN AIRBAG TO A VEHICLE
Tabs for coupling or securing an airbag to a vehicle are provided. A tab may include a first panel and a second panel that meet at a foldable portion. First and second arms may extend away from a central portion of the first panel in substantially opposite directions. First and second recesses may extend inward from first and second lateral edges, respectively, of the second panel. The tab may be configured to be folded to form a bracket receiving member. The bracket receiving member may be configured to be disposed through an aperture of a bracket to secure the tab to the vehicle. Additionally, the first and second panels of the tab may be configured to be secured to an airbag to secure the airbag to the vehicle via the tab and the bracket.
KNEE AIRBAG DEVICE
A knee airbag device including an airbag cushion, a storage case in which is formed a horizontally long opening part where the expanded and deployed airbag cushion pops outs, a first flap for covering the airbag cushion exposed through the opening part such that the airbag cushion is retained in the storage case, and having a first weak part that breaks when pressed by the airbag cushion during expansion and deployment and a second flap, which is a component with a larger dimension in a length direction than the first flap and for covering an outer surface of the first flap so as to transverse in a short direction of the opening part a center part of the airbag cushion in a lateral direction, the second flap having a second weak part that breaks when pressed by the airbag cushion after rupture of the first weak part.
Lid for airbag tether deployment in vehicles
A system including an airbag assembly for a vehicle is disclosed. The airbag assembly includes a housing supporting the airbag, an inflation device (inflator) in fluid communication with the airbag for inflating the airbag from an uninflated position to an inflated position, a tether fixed to the airbag that helps control the deployment and inflation of the airbag, and a tether lid configured to open in order to release the tether during deployment. The tether lid is installed in a pillar garnish of the vehicle, and is opened in response to the force of the tether as it is pulled by the deploying airbag.
Deployable panel assembly deployed by airbag
An assembly includes a dash and a deployable panel. The deployable panel has a proximal end rotatably connected to the dash. The deployable panel is rotatable about the proximal end from an undeployed position to a deployed position. The proximal end is engaged with the dash in the deployed position and the deployable panel has a distal end spaced above the dash in the deployed position. An airbag is supported by the dash and is inflatable to an inflated position. The airbag has a back panel abutting the deployable panel in the inflated position and an impact panel opposite the back panel. A tether is connected to the deployable panel and the impact panel. The tether extends through the back panel from the deployable panel to the impact panel.
KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
An airbag cover includes a base panel portion, a side panel portion formed, and a cover panel portion. The cover panel portion is moveable relative to the base panel portion between a closed position and an open position. A latch is configured to releasably secure the cover panel portion to the side panel portion in the closed position. The latch is releasable upon the inflation of the cushion, such that the latch functions as a tear seam in the airbag cover. The entire airbag cover, including the base panel portion, the side panel portion, and the cover panel portion may be extruded as a single piece of plastic. The latch may provide a snap fit connection between the cover panel portion and the side panel portion.
Vehicle airbag systems
A sealed modular trim supplemental side air bag inflatable curtain (SABIC) module assembly includes a SABIC and a vehicle trim assembly encapsulating the SABIC. The SABIC is sealed within the vehicle trim assembly and provided as a complete compact module configured for subsequent attachment to a vehicle roll bar.
Occupant protection device
An occupant protecting device provided inside or below a seat cushion of a vehicle seat, comprising an airbag cushion capable of expanding and deploying a seat surface of the seat cushion; and an inflator. The airbag cushion includes a lower panel, an upper panel longer than the lower panel in the front-rear direction of the vehicle seat, and mutually opposing side panels joined to the lower panel and the upper panel. The airbag cushion has a first mounting point attached to the vehicle seat side and a second mounting point attached to the vehicle seat side on the rear side of the first mounting point in the front-rear direction of the vehicle seat. The lower panel and the upper panel are mutually joined to a first mounting point and a second mounting point.
Passenger airbag module
One general aspect includes an airbag module, including: a housing. The airbag module also includes a cushion disposed within the housing. The airbag module also includes a chute having a first side and a second side with a seam centrally formed therebetween, where each of the first and second sides include a plurality of fingers which operatively cooperate to define a track configured to slidably attach the housing to the chute such that the chute sufficiently encloses the cushion within the housing, and where the chute is configured to open during deployment of the cushion.
