AIRBAG MODULE OF A VEHICLE PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM
The invention relates to an airbag module (10) of a vehicle occupant restraint system, specifically a knee airbag module, comprising a folded inflatable airbag (12) for restraining a vehicle occupant, a module housing (14) which includes a flexible airbag sheath (16) at least partially enclosing the folded airbag (12), and comprising a module cover (18) which includes fasteners (20) for fastening the module cover (18) to the module housing (14), wherein the flexible airbag sheath (16) of the module housing (14) is fixed directly to said fasteners (20), and wherein at least one flexible anchoring element (22, 22′) is provided which extends between the folded airbag (12) and the module cover (18) and limits or prevents expansion of the folded airbag (12) toward the module cover (18).
CURTAIN AIRBAG ASSEMBLIES FOR UTILITY VEHICLES
An inflatable airbag assembly for a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) that includes an airtight housing to be mounted to a vehicle structure of the UTV, an inflator to generate inflation gas, and an inflatable airbag cushion disposed within the airtight housing that is in fluid communication with the inflator to receive the inflation gas and deploy from a packaged configuration within the airtight housing to a deployed configuration to protect an occupant of the UTV during a collision event. The UTV may comprise a plurality of inflatable airbag assemblies disposed in various locations on the UTV to help keep passengers and their appendages in the UTV.
AIRBAG COVERS AND THE MANUFACTURING METHODS THEREOF; AIRBAG DEVICES
An airbag cover, a method for manufacturing the same, and an airbag device in which a wound or folded cushion can be stowed in a shape so as to fit in a prescribed location in a vehicle cabin, and which can protect the cushion from an obstacle. An airbag cover that encloses a bag-like cushion that is wound or folded and stowed within a vehicle cabin and expands and deploys using gas supplied from a built-in inflater, wherein the airbag cover includes a first base material made from a plain woven fabric or non-woven fabric made of synthetic fibers, and a second base material integrally bonded to the first base material and having a higher initial tensile resistance value than that of the first base material.
Airbag module for protecting the head
A head protection airbag module comprising a tubular inflator, a holder for the inflator and an airbag which is in fluid communication with the inflator and is folded to form a package, characterized by a guide element for the airbag which is arranged on the holder and includes a guide tongue extending into the airbag package.
Airbag module and method for mounting an airbag module
An airbag module (10) comprises a housing (12), a folded airbag (16) and a flexible fixation (14) which fixes the folded airbag (16) on the housing (12). There is provided a tensioning device (24) by which the fixation (14) can be brought from an initial state to a tensioned state. Moreover, a method of mounting an airbag module (10) is provided.
Housing of a gas generator module for an airbag system of a motor vehicle
The invention relates to a housing of a gas generator module for an airbag system of a motor vehicle, wherein the housing is of substantially tubular design and has a tube portion in which a plurality of stamped formations pointing into the interior of the housing are introduced over an external circumference of the housing, wherein the stamped formations in the interior of the tube portion have a stop for an internal component.
COMPACT KNEE AIRBAG
Driver-side knee airbags, for vehicles, are described herein. One airbag has at least one cushion pack. Each cushion pack has an airbag cushion to be deployed. The airbag has an inflator. The inflator is outside of and coupled to the cushion pack, and is for inflating the airbag cushion. The cushion pack is dimensioned to be positioned below the steering column of the vehicle. Another airbag has a single cushion pack. The single cushion pack has a single airbag cushion to deploy. An inflator is inside the single airbag cushion. The single cushion pack is dimensioned to mount in a vertical orientation offset to one side of the steering column of the vehicle. In multiple versions of the airbag, an inflator is dimensioned to mount offset to one side of the steering column of the vehicle.
SUBTOTAL ENCLOSURES FOR AIRBAG ASSEMBLIES
Subtotal enclosures for inflatable airbag assemblies are disclosed that preserve a packaged state of the inflatable airbag assembly and that may be installed beneath or behind a seat covering material whereby “read-through” of the inflatable airbag assembly through the seat covering material is limited.
KNEE PROTECTION AIRBAG DEVICE
A knee protection airbag device is provided with an airbag, an inflator, an airbag cover, and an attachment base to be connected to a vehicle body side member. The airbag cover includes a door portion that allows forming of a protrusion-permitting opening when pushed by the airbag that inflates, a door disposition wall portion that covers a lower portion of the airbag in a folded state, and connecting wall portions that extend upward from front and rear edges of the door disposition wall portion and that are connected to the attachment base. The airbag cover defines an accommodating recess capable of accommodating the airbag that is formed by bending a portion of the recessed grooves for bending that are formed by performing press working on a sheet member made of a non-woven fabric.
Airbag unit for a motor vehicle safety device
An airbag unit for a motor vehicle safety device includes an inflatable airbag and a cover. The inflatable airbag is formed of flexible material and provided in a rolled and/or folded package. The cover extends around at least part of the package. The cover includes a first cover portion and a second cover portion. The first cover portion is located on a first side of the package, and at least a region of the second cover portion being located on an opposite second side of the package. The second cover portion is substantially flexible and is connected to or formed integrally with the first cover portion, and the first cover portion has a predetermined stable shape and is relatively rigid in comparison to the second cover portion.
