Airbag device for vehicle

The present invention relates to an airbag device for a vehicle. The airbag device comprises: an airbag cushion which is formed in a shawl shape and deployed toward both sides of a passenger so as to wrap and restrain the entire upper body around both shoulders of the passenger when a vehicle collides; and an inflator for generating gas and supplying the gas to the airbag cushion in response to an impact detection signal when the vehicle collides. Accordingly, when a vehicle collides, the shawl-shaped airbag cushion installed on the back of a seat is inflated and deployed to restrain the both sides and front area of the upper body of a passenger around both shoulders of the passenger, thereby safely protecting the passenger.

OCCUPANT PROTECTION SYSTEM INCLUDING INFLATORS

An occupant protection system for a vehicle may include an expandable curtain and/or an expandable bladder configured to be expanded from a stowed state to a deployed state. The system may also include a transverse ceiling trim panel and one or more side ceiling trim panels configured to be coupled to a ceiling of the vehicle, with the transverse ceiling trim panel extending substantially transversely with respect to the one or more side ceiling trim panels. Portions of the ceiling trim panels may be configured to deflect and allow expansion of the expandable curtain and/or the expandable bladder to the deployed state. The system may also include a deployment controller and one or more inflators configured to cause deployment of the expandable curtain at a first time and deployment of the expandable bladder at a second time after the first time.

Deployable passenger enclosure

Aspects of the disclosure relate to deployable structures, such as airbag systems, for vehicles. A system is disclosed for reducing likelihood of injury to a passenger in a collision. The system may include a seat configured to accommodate the passenger and an airbag system. At least a portion of the airbag system may be incorporated into a vehicle prior to deployment of the airbag system. The airbag system may include an airbag and a locking feature. The locking feature may be configured to lock the airbag with a locking portion of a vehicle when the airbag system has been deployed. The locking feature may be attached to the airbag. Aside from airbags, other confining structures, such as nets, shades, curtains, etc., may also be used as deployable structures.

Airbag device

An airbag device installed in a vehicle seat having a seat cushion forming the seat surface and a seatback forming the backrest, and an inflator that generates expansion gas and an airbag that is deployed by the expansion gas released from said inflator. The airbag includes a pair of left and right side chambers that deploy forward from the side of the seatback and primarily protect the occupant's waist to shoulders, and an upper chamber that is continuous with the side chambers, deploys forward above the side chambers, and mainly protects the occupant's neck and head. On the left and right sides of the seatback, the location on the side where the seatbelt crosses near the shoulder is the first side, and the side opposite to said first side is the second side. A recess is formed on the first side of the airbag where the seatbelt fits.

An OPW airbag has warp and weft threads woven together in a lower fabric layer, an upper fabric layer and a middle fabric layer arranged therebetween. The airbag has, arranged along a longitudinal axis, front, middle and rear portions. A generator mouth and an inflow region are in the front portion. Upper and lower main chambers are in the middle portion. A first plurality of lower stiffening chambers is in the rear portion between the middle and lower fabric layers. A second plurality of upper stiffening chambers is in the rear portion between the middle and upper fabric layers. At least one upper stiffening chamber, which is narrower compared to the lower stiffening chamber, is associated with each lower stiffening chamber. The lower stiffening chambers are each spaced apart by lower woven seams. Bridge chambers, which cover the lower woven seams, are arranged between the middle and upper fabric layers.

Provided is a roof-mounted airbag configured to reduce the risk of injury to a passenger by minimizing movement of a cushion when the passenger is placed on the cushion. The roof-mounted airbag includes a cushion, formed in a cylindrical shape and configured to be deployed downwards between passengers facing each other while left and right upper ends thereof are fixed to a roof part, and an inflator configured to provide gas to an inside of the cushion.

Vehicular airbag device

The present disclosure relates to an airbag apparatus for a vehicle, which includes: an airbag cushion which is inflated and deployed in a forward direction from both sides of a passenger upon vehicle collision to protect both sides of the passenger; and an inflater configured to generate gas by an impact detection signal and to supply the gas to the airbag cushion, wherein the airbag cushion includes a first airbag configured to protect both sides or one side from passenger's shoulder to passenger's lower body part; and a second airbag configured to protect passenger's head and both sides of passenger's shoulder, and can restrict and protect passenger's upper body and lower body by inflating and deploying the first and second airbags toward both sides of the passenger upon vehicle collision.
