Roof mounted airbag for protection of front row mid and outboard passengers in frontal, offset, and oblique crash modes

The present disclosure describes a roof-mounted airbag apparatus in a vehicle. The vehicle includes a roof, an instrument panel, and two passenger seats in a front row. The airbag apparatus includes an inflator and an airbag that is fluidly coupled to the inflator. The airbag is inflatable and deployable from the roof in an interior of the vehicle between the passenger seats and the instrument panel, and includes a cavity.

Side air bag for vehicle

A side airbag for a vehicle including an inflator part that discharges an inflation gas; and a cushion part that covers the inflator part, is deployed by the gas discharged from the inflator part. The cushion part includes a main chamber part deployed between a passenger and a vehicle body, and a protruding chamber part extended from the main chamber part and deployed in front of the passenger.

AIRBAG ON LAW-ENFORCEMENT VEHICLE PARTITION

A vehicle includes a vehicle body defines an occupant cabin. The vehicle body includes a ceiling above the occupant cabin and a floor below the occupant cabin. The vehicle includes a partition extending from the floor to the ceiling and dividing the occupant cabin into an officer compartment and a detainee compartment. The partition has a front surface facing the officer compartment and a rear surface facing the detainee compartment. An airbag is supported by the partition and is inflatable into the detainee compartment.

Airbag with releasable secondary chambers

An assembly includes a first seat and a second seat spaced from the first seat. The assembly includes an airbag supported by the first seat. The airbag is inflatable to an inflated position between the seats. The airbag has a main chamber, a pair secondary chambers supported by the main chamber, and a tether releasably connected to the secondary chambers. The secondary chambers are maintained by the tether in an undeployed position relative to the main chamber and the secondary chambers are releasable by the tether to a deployed position in a cross-vehicle direction relative to the main chamber. The assembly includes a computer including a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to identify that an occupant is seated in the first seat, identify that an occupant is seated in the second seat and release the tether based on the identification of the occupants seated seats.

Deployable cargo panel

An assembly for a vehicle includes a vehicle roof and a panel rotatably connected to the vehicle roof. The panel is rotatable away from the vehicle roof from a stowed position to a deployed position. The assembly includes an airbag supported on the panel. The airbag is inflatable from the panel in a vehicle-forward direction when the panel is in the deployed position.

A roof airbag for a vehicle is proposed. The roof airbag for a vehicle has an airbag cushion configured to be unfolded downward from an inner roof to protect a passenger seated on a seat, and the airbag cushion has a shape bent toward the passenger by a main tether and a sub-tether, thus securing a restraining force for the passenger and safely protecting the passenger from an impact, and the airbag cushion is unfolded downward while avoiding insertion between a roof-side portion of the roof and a headlining by the sub-tether. Specifically, the airbag cushion is prevented from being transversally contracted and an unfolding shape of the airbag cushion is maintained. Furthermore, the fluidity of a gas flow in the airbag cushion is secured, so that the airbag cushion is rapidly unfolded.

The present invention is an airbag device mounted on one side of a vehicle seat in which both ends of a seat-shaped cushion that are opposed in horizontal and longitudinal directions during expansion and deployment are respectively bent a plurality of times and formed into molded parts R1, R2, and is provided with a first holding member 43 that holds the first molded part R1 on one end of either of the ends at least until the start of expansion and deployment and a second holding member 44 that holds the second molded part R2 on the other end at least until the start of expansion and deployment.

Floor mounted airbag

A vehicle includes a floor and an occupant seating area above the floor. An airbag is fixed to the floor and is inflatable upwardly from the floor to an inflated position. At least a portion of the airbag in the inflated position extends endlessly around the occupant seating area.

Bulkhead mounted inflatable device

A vehicle includes a bulkhead and a seat rotatable to a vehicle-rearward facing direction. The seat includes a seatback having a first side, a second side spaced from the first side, and a rear side. The rear side faces the bulkhead in the away-facing direction. The vehicle includes an inflatable device that is a thermoplastic elastomer. The inflatable device has a middle chamber, a first side chamber, and a second side chamber. The middle chamber is inflatable away from the bulkhead toward the rear side of the seatback in the away-facing direction. The middle chamber is elongated cross-vehicle between the first side and the second side of the seatback. The first side chamber is inflatable vehicle-rearward from the bulkhead along the first side of the seatback in the away-facing position. The second side chamber is inflatable from the bulkhead along the second side of the seatback in the away-facing position.
