ROOF AIRBAG FOR VEHICLE
A roof airbag for a vehicle is proposed. The roof airbag for a vehicle has an airbag cushion configured to be unfolded downward from an inner roof to protect a passenger seated on a seat, and the airbag cushion has a shape bent toward the passenger by a main tether and a sub-tether, thus securing a restraining force for the passenger and safely protecting the passenger from an impact, and the airbag cushion is unfolded downward while avoiding insertion between a roof-side portion of the roof and a headlining by the sub-tether. Specifically, the airbag cushion is prevented from being transversally contracted and an unfolding shape of the airbag cushion is maintained. Furthermore, the fluidity of a gas flow in the airbag cushion is secured, so that the airbag cushion is rapidly unfolded.
Airbag assembly
An assembly includes a seatback. The assembly includes an airbag supported by the seatback and inflatable to an inflated position seat-forward of the seatback. The airbag includes a first tether fixed to the seatback and the airbag. The airbag includes a retractor. The airbag includes a second tether connected to and slidable along the first tether. The second tether is operatively coupled to the retractor.
Seat bottom supported airbags extending cross-vehicle between vehicle seats
An assembly for a vehicle includes an assembly for a vehicle including a first seat, a second seat, and a third seat spaced from the second seat along a vehicle-longitudinal axis. The second seat and the third seat are spaced cross-vehicle from the first seat. Each of the second seat and the third seat define an occupant seating area. The occupant seating area of the second seat faces the occupant seating area of the third seat. The assembly includes an airbag supported by the first seat. The airbag extends from the first seat and is inflatable cross-vehicle between the occupant seating area of the second seat and the occupant seating area of the third seat.
AIRBAG ASSEMBLY FOR SIDE IMPACT PROTECTION
A vehicle includes an occupant seating area and a body side having a first pillar and a second pillar disposed vehicle-forward of the first pillar. An airbag is mounted to the first pillar and inflatable to an inflated position. The airbag includes a side lobe extending from the first pillar toward the second pillar in the inflated position. The airbag includes a front lobe extending cross-vehicle from the side lobe vehicle-forward of the occupant seating area in the inflated position.
Airbags supported by center console with non-inflatable panel
An assembly for a vehicle includes a center console. The assembly includes a first airbag supported by the center console. The first airbag is inflatable away from the center console to an inflated position. The assembly includes a second airbag supported by the center console adjacent the first airbag. The second airbag is inflatable away from the center console to an inflated position. The assembly includes a non-inflatable panel extending from the first airbag to the second airbag when the first airbag and the second airbag are in the inflated position.
ROOF MOUNTED AIRBAG FOR PROTECTION OF FRONT ROW MID AND OUTBOARD PASSENGERS IN FRONTAL, OFFSET, AND OBLIQUE CRASH MODES
The present disclosure describes a roof-mounted airbag apparatus in a vehicle. The vehicle includes a roof, an instrument panel, and two passenger seats in a front row. The airbag apparatus includes an inflator and an airbag that is fluidly coupled to the inflator. The airbag is inflatable and deployable from the roof in an interior of the vehicle between the passenger seats and the instrument panel, and includes a cavity.
Occupant protection apparatus
An occupant protection apparatus includes an airbag, an upper holder, and a tension member. The airbag is disposed along side surfaces of a seat from an upper part of the seat into space under a seat surface. The upper holder is configured to hold an upper part of the airbag and disposed between and above shoulders of an occupant to sit on the seat in a right-to-left direction. The tension member is configured to, upon deployment of the airbag, apply a tensional force to a lower part of the deploying airbag to pull the lower part in a direction opposite to a side surface on which the airbag is deployed.
Side airbag device
A side airbag device includes an inflator; and a bag-shaped airbag inflatable and deployable in response to a gas upon activation of the inflator. The airbag includes a torso protection portion inflatable and deployable in a space beside a torso of the occupant, a support portion provided on a console box side of the torso protection portion and configured to be pushed onto a top surface of the console box in an inflated and deployed state, and a hip protection portion inflatable and deployable between a hip of the occupant and a lateral portion of the console box. The support portion and the hip protection portion are defined by a continuous chamber. The inflator is positioned from above to below the support portion in a side view of the vehicle. The airbag is mounted on a lateral portion of the vehicle seat via the inflator.
Motor vehicle and airbag module
A motor vehicle with at least one first seat (10) and at least one second seat (12) is described. The second seat (12) is located rear of the first seat (10) and the first seat has one position of operation in which it faces the second seat (12). An air-bag module with an inflatable airbag device (20) being positioned between the first seat (10) and the second seat (12) when in its fully deployed state is provided. Said inflatable airbag device (20) has a first impact surface (22) pointing towards the first seat (10), a second impact surface (24) pointing towards the sec- and seat (12), a main support surface (26) adjacent to or abutting a structural element of the vehicle, and a connecting surface (28) remote from the support surface (26) and extending between the impact surfaces (22, 24). Especially in order to improve the deployment behaviour, the connecting surface (28) is at least partially concave, such that a recess (R) is formed.
Deployable passenger enclosure
Aspects of the disclosure relate to deployable structures, such as airbag systems, for vehicles. A system is disclosed for reducing likelihood of injury to a passenger in a collision. The system may include a seat configured to accommodate the passenger and an airbag system. At least a portion of the airbag system may be incorporated into a vehicle prior to deployment of the airbag system. The airbag system may include an airbag and a locking feature. The locking feature may be configured to lock the airbag with a locking portion of a vehicle when the airbag system has been deployed. The locking feature may be attached to the airbag. Aside from airbags, other confining structures, such as nets, shades, curtains, etc., may also be used as deployable structures.
