VEHICLE AIRBAG
An assembly includes an airbag inflatable to an inflated position. The airbag in the inflated position has a first portion, a second portion extending transversely from the first portion, and a corner therebetween. The airbag includes a stay fixed to and rigid relative to the airbag, the stay having a bendable portion at the corner and extending from the bendable portion along the first portion and the second portion when the airbag is in the inflated position.
Airbag module and vehicle
A knee airbag module for a motor vehicle. The airbag module has a housing which is preferably composed of plastic and has a housing base (12) and a wall extending from the housing base (12), forming an outlet opening. A receptacle is provided in a first wall section. An airbag is folded into the housing, an air generator (30) which has outflow openings located within the airbag, and a covering element which closes the outlet opening. This covering element has a main section (54) which lies substantially in one plane, at least one first end section (52) accommodated in the at least one receptacle, and a second end section (56) situated opposite the first end section (52), extends out of the plane of the main section (54) and is connected to the housing (10). The covering element (50) is produced from a blank.
PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG DEVICE
A passenger seat airbag device is disposed on an upper face side of an instrument panel, and includes an airbag that can inflate owing to an inflating gas flowing into an interior. The airbag includes a conduit portion connected to an inflator on a front end side and disposed in such a way as to extend approximately following a front-rear direction, and a main body inflation portion configured in such a way as to swell up and down and from left to right from a rear end side of the conduit portion and disposed to a rear side of the instrument panel. The main body inflation portion is configured in such a way that an upper end side is supported by a front windshield disposed above the instrument panel, and a lower front face side is supported by a rear face of the instrument panel when receiving an occupant.
APPARATUS FOR KNEE AIRBAG
An embodiment apparatus for a knee airbag includes an airbag located inside a cockpit, the cockpit configured to be located in a front side of an interior of a vehicle, an airbag door disposed in the cockpit at a position facing an occupant knee area, the airbag door being configured to open when the airbag is deployed, an absorber located at a front end of the airbag, and a guide part surrounding at least two surfaces of the absorber and the airbag.
Rear-seat airbag
A rear-seat airbag configured to expand and deploy inward of a vehicle from a door trim beside a rear seat includes a first expansion air chamber and a second expansion air chamber. The first expansion air chamber is configured to expand and deploy to a space facing leg parts of a passenger in the rear seat that are above knees of the passenger. The second expansion air chamber is configured to expand and deploy to a space between the first expansion air chamber and the passenger in the rear seat.
Airbag systems for autonomous vehicles
Aspects of the disclosure provide for airbag systems suited for autonomous vehicles. Such an airbag system may include a first chamber, a second chamber, a dual-stage inflator, an orifice blocker mechanism and a control module. The dual-stage inflator may be in fluid communication with the first chamber via a first orifice and in fluid communication with the second chamber via a second orifice. The orifice blocker mechanism may be configured to block and unblock gas flow from the second orifice to the second chamber. The control module may be configured to activate the dual-stage inflator in order to inflate one or both of the first chamber and the second chamber with gas based on a position of the orifice blocker mechanism relative to the second orifice.
Occupant protection device
Provided is an occupant protection device which is disposed together with an under-cover of an instrument panel, has a harness connected to an inflator and protects a knee portion of an occupant, including a case in which a first surface is disposed along a lower end of the under-cover and the harness is disposed on a side surface intersecting the first surface and extending in forward and backward direction of a vehicle, and an overhanging portion configured to protrude from a side surface of the case on a lower side of the harness in a vehicle width direction.
Airbag
An airbag includes a mounting region, a protection inflatable region and an intermediate region disposed between the mounting region and the protection inflatable region. An area of the airbag from the protection inflatable region to the intermediate region is formed of two panels that are continuous with each other at leading end regions of the panels apart from the mounting region and the two panels in that area are connected at opposite edges by a joint. The protection inflatable region includes at the leading end a folded region that is formed by bringing the leading end regions of the two panels closer to the mounting region so as to form four or more layers of the panels, such that the folded region includes at least two inflatable spaces between the layers and a crease that is continuous with the joint.
Occupant's leg restraint device and airbag for occupant's leg restraint device
Provided is an occupant's leg restraint device suitable for restraining the legs of an occupant when an automobile has an oblique collision or an offset barrier collision. The occupant's leg restraint device has an airbag and an inflator for supplying gas to the lower part of the airbag to inflate the airbag, and the airbag has a first panel on the occupant side and a second panel on the side opposite thereto. An upper part of the inside of the airbag is divided into small chambers by vertical separating panels that are joined to the first panel and the second panel and that extend vertically. In a state where the airbag has inflated, recessed portions having a depth of 20 to 40 mm are formed in the occupant-side surface of the airbag along the vertical separating panels.
AIRBAG DEVICE
An airbag device includes an airbag, an airbag case that is made from metal and includes a base wall and a tubular wall, and an airbag cover that is made from synthetic resin and includes a covering wall and a joint wall. The case and cover are coupled together by insertion of hooks of the tubular wall of the case into joint holes of the joint wall of the cover. The device further includes an approximation-limiting region that suppresses the cover as coupled with the case from moving further towards the base wall of the case, and a separation-limiting region that suppresses the cover as coupled with the case from moving further away from the base wall of the case. The approximation-limiting region includes an abutment region and a receiving region engageable with the abutment region. The separation-limiting region includes a retaining hole and a projection engageable with an inner surface of the retaining hole.
