There is provided a wiper assembly that includes a wiper arm configured to retain a wiper blade in a state where at least a part of the wiper blade is housed within a blade housing section, the wiper assembly being configured so that a reduction in weight and a lowering of the manufacturing cost can be achieved. In a wiper assembly 1 configured to retain a wiper blade 3 by a wiper arm 2, by housing a support section 32 of the wiper blade 3 in a blade housing section 27 provided in an arm main body 23 of the wiper arm 2, the arm main body 23 is formed of metal, while the support section 32 is formed of resin. A plurality of projections 37 are provided on side surfaces 34 of the support section 32, and these projections 37 are made to come into contact with inward-facing surfaces 26B of side walls 26 of the arm main body 23.

The wiper device includes a carrier element and a wiper blade with at least one longitudinal groove, in which groove the carrier element is disposed. The wiper device also includes a connecting device for pivotally connecting the wiper blade with an oscillating arm. The connecting device has spaced-apart sidewalls, each with a protrusion that extends sidewardly and outwardly. The connecting device and oscillating arm are interconnected by the protrusions pivotally and snappingly engaging into correspondingly shaped recesses of the oscillating arm. The oscillating arm has a guiding tongue engaging into a guiding groove of the connecting device. The connecting device has an asymmetric form with respect to its middle transverse plane, seen in vertical direction, in order to ensure that the wiper blade can only be mounted on the oscillating arm in a predetermined orientation of the wiper blade relative to the oscillating arm.

Wiper arm pin release for service

A wiper system wiper system for wiping a window is provided. The wiper system has an arm head and an arm retainer connected to the arm head via a pivot. The wiper system includes a latch for controlling pivoting of the arm retainer with respect to the arm head. The latch is configured to restrict pivoting of the arm retainer with respect to the arm head to an operating range close to the window when the latch is in a latched state. The latch is further configured to allow pivoting of the arm retainer with respect to the arm head from the operating range to a servicing position away from the window when the latch is in an unlatched state.

Vehicle window wiper assembly with curvilinear guide rail

A windshield wiper assembly includes a telescoping wiper head having a first section fixed to a pivot drive shaft and a second section capable of translating relative to the first section between an extended position and a retracted position. A curvilinear guide rail engages the second section and guides the second section between the extended and retracted positions. A wiper blade is carried on the second section. Advantageously the wiper assembly functions to provide enhanced wiper coverage over the Zone B portion of the windscreen through which the occupants view is typically directed.
