A pneumatic brake booster having a booster housing. The booster housing has at least two thin-walled shell elements and an elastomer sealing element. The sealing element has a sealing bead, which is of encircling form radially at the outside, and at least one rolling diaphragm portion which adjoins the sealing bead. The sealing bead is sealingly clamped in a clamping space between the shell elements. The clamping space is formed by walls which are generated in the shell elements by deformation, its radial inner wall formed by a tubular, axially forwardly extending projection, which is folded at its front edge, of the second shell element. It is proposed that a bead-side rear wall of the clamping space is formed by an encircling, radially outwardly projecting collar which is formed on the second shell element.

The operating unit (106) further comprises a return spring (126) which is arranged in the recess (150) and is configured to move the operating member (124) relative to the housing body (122) away from the contact shoulder (172), and a sleeve element (180) which circumferentially surrounds a portion of the operating member (124) at least partially and is held in contact with the contact shoulder (172) by the return spring (126), and wherein the sleeve element (180) projects into the through-opening (158) in such a manner that it is arranged between the operating member (124) and an inner circumferential surface of the contact shoulder (172) that delimits the through-opening (158).

A brake system may include an actuation device that may actuate a first piston-cylinder unit to apply pressure medium to at least one brake circuit via a valve device, where a piston of the first piston-cylinder unit separate first and second working chambers; a second piston-cylinder unit, having an electromotive drive and a transmission to feed pressure medium to at least one of the brake circuits via a valve device; and a motor-pump unit having a valve device to feed pressure medium to the brake circuits. The motor of the electromotive drive of the second piston-cylinder unit and the motor of the motor-pump unit may be used jointly or independently of one another, under control of a control device. The motor-pump unit is connected via two hydraulic connections, one or both of which may incorporate separating valves, to the first and second working chambers of the first piston-cylinder unit.

A master brake cylinder is described for a brake system of a motor vehicle as having a hydraulic cylinder that has a plurality of hydraulic connections, in which at least one hydraulic piston is mounted so as to be displaceable axially in a direction of actuation and in a relief direction, the hydraulic piston being displaceable against the force of a spring element in the direction of actuation, the hydraulic piston having at least one lateral wall opening that, in at least one sliding position, opens into an inner chamber of the hydraulic cylinder. It is provided that the lateral wall opening is assigned an elastically deformable sealing ring that on its inner side is fastened on the hydraulic piston and on its outer side is pre-loaded against the hydraulic cylinder by its inherent elasticity and is shaped such that when the hydraulic piston is displaced in the direction of actuation it detaches from the hydraulic cylinder, and when the hydraulic piston is displaced in the relief direction it bears on the hydraulic cylinder.

The hydraulic-pressure supply device operates a hydraulic piston using an electric signal corresponding to a displacement of a brake pedal, and thus generates hydraulic pressure. The hydraulic-pressure control unit controls hydraulic pressure of a pressure medium supplied to individual wheel cylinders. The electronic brake system controls a plurality of valves mounted to the hydraulic-pressure control unit, and thus performs a normal operation mode, an abnormal operation mode, a regenerative braking mode, and an inspection mode using the valves.

The device comprises an electrically controllable actuator and a piston in a pressure chamber, which is movable by means of the electrically controllable actuator for changing a hydraulic fluid pressure in the pressure chamber. The brake system also comprises a wheel brake pressure control device with a reservoir for the storage of hydraulic fluid discharged from a motor vehicle wheel brake in a pressure reduction phase, wherein the reservoir is fluidically coupled to the pressure chamber. A control system of the brake system is designed to output a control signal for the actuator in the event of a detected loss of function of the control device and in the event of a detected critical filling volume of the reservoir with hydraulic fluid during operation of the control device, which causes the piston to be driven back for pressure reduction in the pressure chamber with suction of hydraulic fluid from the reservoir.
