Hinged closure moulded in closed position
The invention is directed to a closure moulded in closed position. The closure comprises a body and a lid, which are separated by a circumferential gap. A snap hinge comprising two trapezoid elements which are connected each by film hinges to the body and the lid, causes a snap action while opening or closing the closure. The closure offers opening angles in the range of 220.
TAMPER-EVIDENT CLOSURE AND TAMPER-EVIDENT CLOSURE AND CONTAINER ASSEMBLY
A tamper-evident closure for the attachment to a container body includes a cap portion which includes a top wall and a peripheral wall extending downwardly from the top wall, an attachment portion, a tamper-proof element arranged and integrally formed between the cap portion and the attachment portion, and a hinge portion including at least one wall section which is integrally formed with the peripheral wall and the attachment portion and connects the cap portion and the attachment portion. The at least one wall section of the hinge portion is formed between at least two cut outs, does not extend beyond an envelope defined by an outer surface of the peripheral wall and an outer surface of the attachment portion and has a substantially constant wall thickness which is essentially the same as the wall thickness of the peripheral wall.
CONTAINERS AND METHODS FOR ISOLATING LIQUIDS PRIOR TO DISPENSING
A container (100) or isolating first and second fluids, such as beverage concentrate components, until dispensing is provided, as well as methods of assembly and dispensing. The container can have first (111) and second (113) enclosed bodies for containing the first and second fluids to be dispensed and an insert (130) directing fluid from the enclosed bodies, such as toward one or more valves or separate discharge paths (148a, 148b).
Child resistant dispenser
Various embodiments include a child resistant and senior friendly dispenser. The dispenser can be used to hold or retain medicine such as, for example, pills. The dispenser can include a bottle and a bottle cap. The cap can restrict access to the contents of the bottle based on one or more incorporated child resistant features. The cap can include a base and a lid. The base can be coupled to a top portion or neck of the bottle to secure the cap to the bottle. The lid can include one or more snaps for securing to the base when in a closed positioned. The base can include one or more corresponding recesses or slots for accepting and securing the snaps.
Container, closure, and methods for manufacture
In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods provided herein are useful for dispensing a fluid, such as a thixotropic fluid. In some embodiments, a bottle having a closure cap includes a flip top, a base, and a disk, where the base and disk define a mixing chamber configured to facilitate mixing of any serum or liquid separated from the fluid back therein. In some configurations, the base has a central opening through which the fluid exits and an internal shaft with a non-planar end surface opposite the central opening. In some configurations, the non-planar end surface and the disk define channels between the mixing chamber and the internal shaft. In some embodiments, the disk includes a central opening, a plurality of partial annular openings through a planar surface of the disk, and projections extending into the mixing chamber.
CONTAINER CLOSURE AND CONTAINER
The invention relates to a container and to a container closure (100). The container closure (100) comprises a main body (1) for fastening to a container, and a metering unit (2) for the metered dispensing of a liquid. The metering unit (2) has a metering body (4) comprising a discharge opening (21), and has a channel (22) adjoining the discharge opening (21). The channel (22) extends in the direction of the container and forms, together with the metering unit (2), an annular groove (23). A metering cap (3) is arranged on the metering unit (2). A metering cap (3) closes the annular groove (23) to form an annular volume (V). The annular volume (V) is connected to a buffer volume (27) by a first opening (24) and to the channel (22) by a second opening (25). The first opening (24) and the second opening are arranged such that any liquid that flows from the first opening (24) to the second opening (25) passes through the annular volume (V), at least along a portion of the annular volume (V), in a direction around the channel (22).
Bowtie Hinges
A closure system (200; 300; 400; 500; 600) comprises the unitarily molded single piece combination of: a first portion (204; 304; 404; 504; 604); a living hinge (202; 302; 402; 502; 602); and a second portion (206; 306; 406; 506; 606) coupled by the living hinge to the first portion and shiftable between a first condition and second condition via rotation about the living hinge. The living hinge comprises a first end (80) at the first portion and a second end (82) at the second portion. Between the first end and the second end, the hinge comprises: a central portion; first and second lateral portions; a first face (88); and a second face (90), at least one of the first face and the second face bearing a plurality of ribs (220, 222; 320; 430, 432, 434; 530, 534; 620).
RADIATION CROSSLINKED POLYETHYLENE HINGE
Polyethylene living hinges used in snap top lids for condiments and the like may be electron bean irradiated to partially crosslink the polyethylene to produce a hinge having an improvement in the number of opening and closing cycles until failure of not less than 30%. The irradiated lids may be used in place of polypropylene lids for condiment containers.
FITMENT FOR A FLEXIBLE CONTAINER
A fitment (20, 20 A) is provided for a flexible, collapsible container (22) with an opening. The fitment (20, 20A) has a body (24, 24A) with an inner end (31) and an outer end (32) and an access passage (30) for communicating with an interior of the container (22). The body (24, 24A) has a height defined between the inner end (31) and outer end (32). The body (24, 24A) has a sealing portion (36, 36A) for being attached to the interior of the container (22). The sealing portion (36) has a major dimension (MD) oriented generally transverse of the height of the body (24, 24A). The fitment (20, 20A) further has a pour lip (46, 46A) that extends from the body outer end (32) and projects laterally relative to the access passage (30). The pour lip (46, 46A) defines a pour path (PP).
