20200140164 · 2020-05-07 ·

A dispenser has a bottle (2) and a closure (3) for the bottle (2). The closure (3) has abase (4) forming a dispensing outlet (6) and a flip-cap for openably closing the dispensing outlet (6). The base (4) is attached on the bottle (2). The dispenser (1) further having a hinge (7) which interconnects the flip-cap and the base (4) for swiveling the flip-cap relative to the base (4) between a closed position, in which the flip-cap closes the outlet (6), and an open position in which the outlet (6) is open. The hinge (7) forms a swivel axis. The closure (3) forms a first end (18, 19) in a direction toward the flip-cap and a second end (18, 19) in a direction toward the base (4). The closure (3) in an area between the hinge-level plane and the second end (18, 19) forms an outer surface circumferentially around the longitudinal axis which is at least partly provided by an outer surface of the base (4) and an outer surface of the flip-cap.

Containers and methods for isolating liquids prior to dispensing

A container (100) for isolating first and second fluids, such as beverage concentrate components, until dispensing is provided, as well as methods of assembly and dispensing. The container can have first (111) and second (113) enclosed bodies for containing the first and second fluids to be dispensed and an insert (130) directing fluid from the enclosed bodies, such as toward one or more valves or separate discharge paths (148a, 148b).

Plastic formed body for pouring out liquid

A plastic formed body having a pouring port 110 for pouring out highly wetting liquid that wets plastics to a high degree, wherein at least either a surface 110b that becomes a liquid-drip flow passage when said liquid drips at the pouring port 110 or a surface 110a that becomes a flow passage when said liquid is poured out, is coated with a fluorine-contained resin, and a surface of the fluorine-contained resin coating has an arithmetic mean roughness (Ra) in a range of 0.4 to 200 m in the surface roughness measurement and an element mean height (Rh) in a range of 0.04 to 10 as defined by mean height (Rc)/element mean length (RSm) in the linear roughness measurement. The formed body effectively prevents said highly wetting liquid from dripping at the pouring port 110.

A tamper-evident closure is provided and includes a base and a lid. The lid is movable between a closed and an open position with respect to the base. The closure includes a tamper-evident member which is initially provided on or by the base with the closure in an unopened condition. The tamper-evident member is released from the base when the lid is initially moved to the open position and is then retained by the lid.

Tamper-evident flip-top closure

The present invention relates to a closure for a container with a base element (100), a flip-top lid (200) attached to said base element (100) by a hinge (150) such that the flip-top lid (200) can be moved between an opened and a closed position, and with a tamper evident unit (400) for indicating whether the flip-top lid (200) had been opened at least once by a user or not. Said tamper evident unit (400) comprising a first tamper evident element (420) and a second tamper evident element (440), which are, when said closure is in its as-manufactured status or when said flip-top lid (200) has not been opened yet by the user, connected to each other by at least one frangible bridge (430). Said first tamper evident element (420) is attached to the base element (100) such that it is movable between a first position and a second position, wherein said first tamper evident element (420) is in its first position, when said closure is in its as-manufactured status or when said flip-top lid (200) had not been opened yet by the user, and said first tamper evident element (420) is in its second position, when said flip-top lid (200) had been opened at least once by the user.

Fitment for a flexible container

A fitment (20, 20A) is provided for a flexible, collapsible container (22) with an opening. The fitment (20, 20A) has a body (24, 24A) with an inner end (31) and an outer end (32) and an access passage (30) for communicating with an interior of the container (22). The body (24, 24A) has a height defined between the inner end (31) and outer end (32). The body (24, 24A) has a sealing portion (36, 36A) for being attached to the interior of the container (22). The sealing portion (36) has a major dimension (MD) oriented generally transverse of the height of the body (24, 24A). The fitment (20, 20A) further has a pour lip (46, 46A) that extends from the body outer end (32) and projects laterally relative to the access passage (30). The pour lip (46, 46A) defines a pour path (PP).

RADIATION CROSSLINKED POLYETHYLENE HINGE

Polyethylene living hinges used in snap top lids for condiments and the like may be electron bean irradiated to partially crosslink the polyethylene to produce a hinge having an improvement in the number of opening and closing cycles until failure of not less than 30%. The irradiated lids may be used in place of polypropylene lids for condiment containers.
