Portable beverage container with self opening hinged lid

A portable beverage container (e.g., an insulated, double-walled bottle) is disclosed. The container includes a lid pivotably connected to it by a hinge. The lid is arranged to be automatically pivoted open by the spring assembly when a catch on the lid is released so that the lid opens in a controlled, non-jarring manner. The spring assembly comprises an elastomeric member and a contact surface (e.g., a recess in a cap of the bottle). The elastomeric member is arranged to cooperate with the contact surface whereupon the elastomeric member operates bi-modally to effect the automatic opening of the lid.

A drinking container has a lid that attaches to a vessel. The lid has a sidewall that forms a chamber with an opening. A spring-loaded door is pivotable between a closed position that seals the chamber opening from the vessel and an open position that allows transfer of fluid or solids between the chamber and the vessel. A lever has a catch that engages and holds the door in the closed position unless the lever is actuated by the user. The lever can be actuated by the user through an area on the lid that allows operation of the lever from the exterior of the container. The drinking container may include additional chambers with corresponding spring-loaded doors that are released through an area on the lid.

A receptacle including a safety locking mechanism in a motor vehicle. A lever is providing including a mass, which is held by a snap-fit device releasably in a non-deflected basic position or in a deflected locking position. In the deflected locking position, the lever, by way of a head, holds a closing element of a lock in a closed position. The lock can be opened in a non-deflected position of the lever. During opening, the lock restores the lever to the basic position, whereby the receptacle can be opened after an accident. The lever is deflected by accelerations that occur in the event of an accident.
