10647485 · 2020-05-12 · ·

A closure device for a container opening includes a lid element for closing the container opening, a chamber which is arranged on the lid element, and an inner housing. The chamber and the inner housing have corresponding closure means and opening means as well as corresponding first threaded means. A discharge opening paired with the chamber can be released with the aid of the threaded means by moving the lid element relative to the inner housing such that a medium stored in the chamber can exit into the container. The chamber has a first region above the first threaded means and a second region below the first region, wherein, relative to an axis of rotation of the thread, the first region is designed radially greater than the second region.

A single-serve beverage receptacle includes a reservoir, arranged to contain a beverage or a beverage additive, and is provided with a bore, an outlet opening into the reservoir, at least one opening leading out of the reservoir, a bottom plug having a closed position the opening being sealed in a liquid-tight manner, and an open position where the opening is clear, a piston mounted in the bore, the piston being movable between first and second positions. The first position requires the bottom plug to be in the open position. The piston has a skirt and a disc rigidly connected to each other. The skirt having an outer surface in contact with the reservoir and an inner surface with an imprint arranged to be connected in a liquid-tight manner to an opening in a beverage container such that during the connection, the piston moves from the second to the first position.

APPARATUS FOR INTRODUCING AN ADDITIVE TO A CARBONATED LIQUID
20200122908 · 2020-04-23 ·

A closure device for firing an additive into a carbonated beverage bottle with a neck comprises a cap member and a housing. The cap member includes a pressurised tank containing the additive and a propellant and has a bottom aperture. The housing engages with the neck and includes a plug member which engages with the bottom aperture. The cap member can be lifted relative to the housing from a first armed or closed position in which the plug member closes the bottom aperture to a second firing position in which the plug member provides a communication path from the tank through a nozzle in the plug member.

FLUID DISPENSING BOTTLE CAP AND BOTTLE SYSTEM
20200102137 · 2020-04-02 ·

A fluid dispensing bottle cap includes a cap body having a closed top end and an open bottom end. A hollow reservoir is positioned within the interior space of the cap body and is accessible via an aperture that extends through the top end of the cap body. The reservoir is constructed from a resilient material and has a slit along the bottom end for discharging a stored liquid. Another embodiment of the present invention includes a dispensing valve that is positioned within the reservoir body to release a measured amount of the stored liquid upon receiving a pressing force.

Admixer-closure device for a container

A cover for a medicine container is provided. The cover contains a deactivating material within it which can, upon release into a medicine container, deactivate and/or destroy a medicine within the container. The cover may have an automated release mechanism which controls release of the deactivating material into the medicine container.

Devices, solutions and methods for sample collection

Some embodiments are directed to a bodily fluid sample collection device for the collection of naturally expressed bodily fluids and include a cap engageable with a tube to close a mouth of the tube. The cap includes a chamber for containing a reagent. The tube defines at least partly a sample collection space for receiving the naturally expressed bodily fluid. The cap comprises first and second cap portions relatively movable with respect to each other. The first and second cap portions are configured such that, responsive to engagement of the cap on the tube, one of the cap portions is caused to move integrally relative to the other cap portion to open the chamber and permit fluid communication between the chamber and the sample collection space. The reagent in the chamber is thereby permitted to mix with the bodily fluid in the sample collection space. A method of organizing and processing samples is also described.

REAGENT COMPONENT DISPENSING CAPS FOR REAGENT CONTAINERS USED IN AUTOMATED CLINICAL ANALYZERS

Described is an automated reagent dispensing cap and methods of use in an automated clinical analyzer for introducing one or more reagent components housed in the reagent dispensing cap into a container enclosing another reagent component with which it is combined to achieve a reagent useful for diagnostic testing.

CLOSURE DEVICE FOR A CONTAINER

A closure device for a container opening includes a lid element for closing the container opening, a chamber associated with the lid element, and an inner housing, the chamber and the inner housing also having mutually corresponding closure means and opening means which are in interaction with each other such that a discharge opening associated with the chamber as opening means can be released by rotationally moving the closure means connected to the lid element relative to the inner housing such that a medium stored in the chamber can exit into the container. The closure means is a closure pin which is fixedly connected to the chamber and which comprises a vertical extension provided with respect to a rotational axis and that the closure means are formed in the vertical extension, with different areas: a flow-through area and a closure area.

ADJUSTABLE ADDITIVE CARTRIDGE SYSTEMS
20200016551 · 2020-01-16 ·

An adjustable additive cartridge that provides adjustable metering of additive to a base fluid as the base fluid is flowing through the cartridge. A spout is mounted for limited rotation within a base element of the cartridge. Rotation of the spout results in varying degrees of flow of additive into a base fluid flow path through the cartridge. The cartridge may be used with a portable beverage container, such as a sports bottle or off-the-shelf water bottle. The supply of base fluid in a container used with the cartridge may be kept in an unmixed, pure state, and other cartridges, each having different additives (i.e., flavors) may be used interchangeably with the same base fluid supply. The cartridge allows a consumer/user to experience different additives, such as different flavors or supplement compositions, for a given supply of base liquid in a single container. A check valve on the cartridge prevents backflow of the base fluid. An integrated filter for filtering base fluid flowing into the cartridge may be provided. The additive cartridge may be sealed to provide for extended storage and to provide a user/consumer with evidence of integrity, quality and/or tampering prior to purchase and/or use. Visual and tactile indicators of the amount of additive being added to a base fluid may be provided. A container may retain a spare additive adjustable cartridge on the container.
