ATTACHMENT FOR A BEVERAGE CONTAINER

An attachment for a beverage container may include a cap configured to attach to an opening in the beverage container. The cap includes an opening. The attachment also include a tube passing through the cap. A beverage in the beverage container can flow through the tube and out of the opening in the cap. The attachment also includes a container attached to the tube and configured to hold a liquid. The container includes an opening to allow the liquid to flow from the container into the tube and out of the opening in the cap. The attachment also comprises a restrictor between the opening of the container and the tube, such that the liquid begins to exit the opening in the cap before the beverage begins to exit the opening in the cap.

Reagent component dispensing caps for reagent containers used in automated clinical analyzers

Described is an automated reagent dispensing cap and methods of use in an automated clinical analyzer for introducing one or more reagent components housed in the reagent dispensing cap into a container enclosing another reagent component with which it is combined to achieve a reagent useful for diagnostic testing.

A modular flow monitoring package (MFMP) is provided for use in an additive delivery system. The MFMP may be manufactured as an add-on to be added to an existing additive delivery system, or may be incorporated into a cartridge or container structure. The MFMP includes a flow sensor for sensing flow of a base fluid and user actuator position sensors for sensing the position of one or more user actuated additive flow adjustment levers. A visual display, which may comprise an array of multi-color LED's may convey information to a user that is relevant to a user's use of the additive delivery system or the user's nutritional needs. Such information may include a current dosage of additive, being delivered, whether a recommended dosage of additive has been consumed, remaining life of a cartridge or supply of additive, and other data relative to health or performance monitoring.

A closure device for use with a container having a container neck comprises a cap member having a first fluid chamber and a housing having a second fluid chamber. The housing is arranged to move relative to the cap member between a first armed position and a second firing position. The housing includes a first plug member adapted to close a bottom aperture in the first fluid chamber in the first armed position. The cap member includes a second plug member adapted to close a bottom aperture in the second fluid chamber in the first armed position. In the second firing position the first plug member is removed from the aperture in the first fluid chamber and the second plug member is removed from the aperture in the second fluid chamber.

A closure device (210) for use on the neck (238) of a bottle comprises a cap member (236) having a side wall (237) adapted to be secured to the neck, a fluid chamber (260) fixed at its upper end to the cap member and having a bottom aperture (266) at its lower end, a housing (254) at least partially surrounding the fluid chamber and having a flange member (258) adapted to extend at least partially across the top of the container neck, and a plug member (264) fixed to the housing and sealingly engageable in the bottom aperture of the fluid chamber. The plug member (264) has a nozzle (274) therein, and the housing (254) is adapted to move relative to the cap member (236) between a first closed position of the closure device before securing to the neck of the bottle, in which the plug member (264) seals the bottom aperture (266) closed and the housing or cap member is engaged by a detent member (204) provided to prevent movement of the housing away from the cap member, and a second armed position in which the closure device is secured to the neck of the bottle, and in which the plug member (264) continues to seal the bottom aperture (266) closed and the flange member (258) or detent member (204) is deformed to a position in which the housing can no longer be engaged by the detent member (204). An internal rib (206) on the housing may engage with the detent member to prevent movement of the housing away from the cap member in the first closed position of the closure device. The detent member (204) may be deformable such that in the second armed position of the closure device the detent member is deformed to a position in which the internal rib can no longer be engaged by the detent member, to permit the closure device to move to a third firing position when the closure device is removed from the neck.

System and method for enabling accurate spoilage monitoring of a liquid food product or the like from the moment it is created, until the time it is either consumed or needs to be discarded. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a container for the food product, or a device to be attached to a container, is equipped with a switch, thermometer, other environmental sensors, controller and alarm. The switch is activated automatically or manually at the moment when the liquid food product is created, and then the temperature and other environmental parameters of the food product are monitored during the subsequent course of time, all the while keeping track of the temperature history of the product throughout the period, until the controller calculates that the maximum safe period has expired; whereupon an alarm is activated to warn the user to discard the product.

A closure device for a container has a lid element for closing the container opening, a chamber which is arranged on the lid element for storing a medium, and an inner housing. The chamber and the inner housing have corresponding closure means and opening means. A discharge opening paired with the chamber can be released by moving the lid element relative to the inner housing such that a medium can exit the chamber into the container. The chamber and the inner housing each have a corresponding first thread which is formed relative to a winding rotational axis. The first thread which is located on the chamber is arranged so as to point radially outwards when seen from the thread rotational axis.
