A method of making a container for consumer goods is provided, the method including: folding a first cellulose-based layer to form a package, the package defining a housing for the consumer goods; forming an outer wrapper, the outer wrapper including a second cellulose-based layer having an inner surface defining an inner area and an outer surface defining an outer area, a first polymeric layer provided on the inner surface, and a second polymeric layer provided on less than 30 percent of the outer surface, the first polymeric layer and the second polymeric layer being heat-sealable layers; wrapping the package with the outer wrapper, the wrapping being made so that the first polymeric layer is provided on an inner side of the second cellulose-based layer; and heating the package and the outer wrapper to seal the outer wrapper on the package, forming the container.

The wrapper has a barrier material arranged to extend over an edge of a bundle after the barrier material is wrapped around a group of tobacco industry products to form the bundle. A tab is arranged such that pulling the tab forms an extraction opening that extends over the edge of the bundle. Wherein, prior to pulling the tab for the first time, at least a part of the barrier material is unbroken across the edge.

Then, the continuous strip is cut along a plurality of cut lines (203) to form the plurality of blanks (301), each cut line comprising a straight transverse section and a curved section. Each cut line intersects a respective cut-out in the strip in the curved section of the cut line. Each cut line, together with its respective intersected cut-out, corresponds to an edge (303, 305) of at least one of the plurality of blanks. There is also provided a blank (301) formed by the method and a container (400) for consumer goods, the container comprising an inner frame (301) formed from a blank formed according by the method.
