20190243014 · 2019-08-08 ·

A seismic cable deployment system is equipped with a cable puller comprising a windlass. A seismic cable follows a cable path extending from a storage unit to the cable puller, where the cable path extends in a circumferential direction deflected around a cylindrical drum surface and confined between the cylindrical drum surface and a drum-side surface of a tension belt which is pressed against the cylindrical drum surface by two pulley rollers being disposed on either side of the cylindrical drum surface. A belt tensioner is configured to impart elastic tension to the tension belt and a motor is configured to impart rotational motion to the cylindrical drum surface and translational motion to the tension belt.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TENSIONING AND THREADING OPTICAL FIBER

An apparatus for tensioning and threading an optical fiber includes a first roller, a second roller, a belt that wraps around the first and second rollers, and a third roller. The belt may be in direct physical contact with the first and second rollers. The third roller may be movable between an engaged and a disengaged configuration relative to the belt. Alternatively, the first roller, second roller, and belt may be movable between the engaged and the disengaged configuration relative to the third roller. Actuation from the disengaged to the engaged configuration captures an optical fiber between the third roller and the belt.

A tensioner for the controlled clamping and forward movement of an elongate element, in particular for winding/unwinding a cable, a hose, a pipeline or an umbilical on a reception member. The tensioner comprises at least one frame that carries three guide boxes arranged around a passage axis. This tensioner comprises means for maneuvering these guide boxes, in particular second maneuvering means for the maneuvering in rectilinear, or at least substantially rectilinear, translation of lateral guide boxes, respectively in a direction defining an angle of between 115 and 125, and preferably between 118 and 122, with respect to said central plane. These second maneuvering means comprise at least one rocker element comprising a proximal end mounted so as to pivot on said frame and a distal end mounted so as to pivot on said lateral guide box, respectively about rotation axes extending parallel to said passage axis.

A pipeline A/R method using a rope connected to the pipeline, the method including winding/unwinding the rope utilizing a hauling machine to exert pull on the rope; adapting a crawler pipeline tensioning device to grip the rope in the crawler tensioning device; and exerting additional pull on a portion of rope between the crawler tensioning device and the pipeline.

WELDING WIRE FEEDER METHOD
20190054558 · 2019-02-21 ·

A wire feeder device and method for feeding a welding wire includes a plurality of first and second gripper members movable from an open position to a closed position to engage on another and the welding wire along an engagement path. A projection from each gripping member is received in a recess defined in its engaged gripping member such that the welding wire is contacted on opposite sides in notches defined at the distal edges of respective projections. The gripper members may include a built-in centering function to center a position of the welding wire, may be made at least partially of material that conforms to the welding wire, and may be biased toward one another to firmly grip the welding wire.

WELDING WIRE FEEDER DEVICE

A wire feeder device for feeding a welding wire in a feeding direction is disclosed. The wire feeder device includes one or more roller chains and a plurality of first and second gripper members. The gripper members are movable from an open position to a closed position to contact and grip the welding wire. In use, the first and second gripper members are longitudinally movable with the roller chain(s) so that the welding wire is pulled along a substantially linear path. The first and second gripper members may be orientated in a vertical (i.e., coplanar) orientation or a horizontal, lateral orientation. The gripper members may include a built-in centering function to center a position of the welding wire.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FIBER REINFORCED RESIN MATERIAL AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING FIBER REINFORCED RESIN MATERIAL

The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a fiber reinforced resin material, the method including an opening step of opening an elongated fiber bundle to be widened in a width direction thereof to be put into a flat state; and a heat setting step of heat-setting the opened fiber bundle in the flat state by heating. In addition, the present invention provides an apparatus for manufacturing a fiber reinforced resin material containing a plurality of fiber bundles and a resin, the apparatus including an opening section that opens an elongated fiber bundle to be widened in a width direction thereof to be put into a flat state; and a heat setting section that heat-sets the opened fiber bundle in the flat state by heating.

Continuous well string injector using multi-piston cylinder blocks for application of skate pressure

A continuous well string injector features a frame carrying a pair of endless chain conveyors on opposite sides of a pathway. Each chain carries gripper dies for engaging the continuous well string when received in the pathway. A respective skate and cylinder block reside in the closed loop path of each chain. Each cylinder block features a plurality of blind bores having open ends facing toward the respective skate, and a respective piston is slidably disposed within each bore. Hydraulic extension and retraction ports open into the cylinder bores on opposite sides of the piston, whereby back and forth displacement of the pistons forces the skates toward and away from one another to grip and release the continuous well string. A front wall of the frame has an open horizontal gap aligned with the pathway to enable lateral entrance and exit of the continuous string to and from the pathway.

On-Pallet Dual-Belt Mechanism Driven by Off-Pallet Motor for Cable Handling at Processing Module

A system for processing a cable end of a cable. The system includes: a pallet delivery system; a cable processing module; a pallet supported by the pallet delivery system; an on-pallet dual-belt cable feed mechanism configured for linear feeding of the cable end into the cable processing module; and an off-pallet electric motor operatively coupled for driving circulation of a pair of belts of the dual-belt cable feed mechanism. The cable processing module includes cable processing equipment configured to perform an operation on the cable end and a computer.
