Cable reel with braking
A cable reel that has at least one support frame having an outwardly extending braking gear member, the outwardly extending gear member being located off-center on the frame; a first flange having a central opening and a first hub portion surrounding the central opening, the central opening having an internal braking gear member engaging the outwardly extending gear member of the frame, thereby rotatably coupling the at least one support frame and the first flange; and a second flange opposing the first flange, the second flange having a second hub portion, the first and second hub portions being configured to mate with one another to support cable, wherein the engagement of the gear members providing a friction for cable payoff.
Continuous rod transport system
A transport system has a dedicated trailer for transporting a small transport reel (i.e., <18-ft in diameter) of continuous rod to the field. The trailer has a pedestal that can pivot the reel. A hub motor on the pedestal can turn the reel, and a transfer unit and rod bender on the trailer can curve or straighten the rod when being fed into or out of the reel. A power and hydraulic system operates the various hydraulic components on the trailer. In other aspects, the transport system includes stands that can hold the small transport reels on a trailer within a defined transport envelope. When empty, these stands can be stacked on top of one another on the trailer for return to a facility.
Method of installing cable on cable reel
A method of installing cable on a cable reel that has the steps of providing a cable reel that includes first and second opposing flanges, the first flange having a first hub portion and the second flange having a second hub portion, the first hub portion being longer than the second hub portion, the first hub portion having a plurality of flexible segments; placing a cable coil over the first hub portion and on the first flange so that the first hub portion extends through the cable coil; and inserting the second hub portion inside of the first hub portion, thereby expanding the flexible segments so that flexible segments engage the cable coil.
Cable reel
A cable reel that has first and second opposing flanges. The first flange has a first hub portion and the second flange has a second hub portion. The first and second hub portions are axial aligned and configured to mate with one another to support cable. The first hub portion includes an elongated wall extends from the first flange. The elongated wall is sized to support cable. The elongated wall defines an inner area that is configured to accept the second hub portion. The elongated wall includes a plurality of flexible segments. The second hub portion includes a truncated wall that is receivable in the inner area of the first hub portion. The truncated wall includes a tapered outer surface for engaging and expanding the plurality of flexible segments.
INSULATION BLOWING MACHINE
A machine for distributing insulation material from a package of compressed insulation material is provided. The machine includes a chute having an inlet end and outlet end. The inlet end is configured to receive the package of compressed insulation material. The chute further has a removable hose hub configured for wrapping with a distribution hose. The removable hose hub is further configured for engagement with opposing flange assemblies such that rotation of the hose hub results in rotation of the flange assemblies. A lower unit is configured to receive the compressed insulation material exiting the outlet end of the chute. The lower unit includes a plurality of shredders and a discharge mechanism. The discharge mechanism is configured to discharge conditioned insulation material into an airstream.
Cart
The disclosure describes a cart having a frame, a front assembly attached to the frame, a back assembly attached to the frame, and a rotating enclosure assembly attached to the frame. The rotating enclosure assembly includes a removable side and a cage. The removable side is removable from the cage to aid in loading or unloading coils of flexible tubing and can be fixedly attached when installing the flexible tubing coiled around the rotating enclosure assembly. The cart may further include an adjustment mechanism that allows the cart to be adjusted between a mobile state and an immobile state. The back assembly may include one or more immobilizers configured to immobilize the cart into the immobile state.
WIRE WINDER
Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a wire winder including a wire winder top shell and a wire winder bottom shell; the wire winder top shell includes a first pillar, a top substrate, and a first wire head placement groove; one end of the first pillar is connected with the top substrate; a groove of the top substrate is connected with a groove of the first pillar to form the first wire head placement groove; the wire winder bottom shell comprises a second pillar, a bottom substrate, and a second wire head placement groove; one end of the second pillar is connected with the bottom substrate; the second pillar is connected with a groove on one side of the bottom substrate to form the second wire head placement groove; the first pillar of the wire winder top shell is engaged with the second pillar of the wire winder bottom shell.
