Polymer encased smokeless tobacco products

Methods for encasing bodies including smokeless tobacco or a tobacco substitute with a polymeric casing can include coating a compressed body with microfibers, applying tubular casings to compressed bodies, printing netting and webs on compressed bodies, injection molding around compressed bodies, applying a webbing to compressed bodies, placing compressed bodies into a skin forming bath, and including thermoplastic polymers in a compressed body.

COATED TOBACCO PARTICLES SUITABLE FOR USAGE IN A SMOKELESS TOBACCO PRODUCT

A process for preparing coated particles of a plant material includes: (a) combining plant material particles and a protein in a liquid medium, wherein the protein adsorbs onto at least a portion of a surface of the particles to form a first layer; and (b) mixing a polysaccharide including a pectin with the liquid medium, so that the polysaccharide adsorbs onto at least a portion of a surface of the first layer to form a second layer. In addition, a palatable product comprising at least one coated particle prepared by this process is described.

INHIBITION OF SENSORY IRRITATION DURING CONSUMPTION OF NON-SMOKEABLE TOBACCO PRODUCTS

An orally-enjoyable tobacco product includes a portion of smokeless tobacco comprising an active ingredient and either: (1) a collection of tobacco particles at least partially enclosed by a coating comprising a water-soluble non-crosslinked component and a substantially water-insoluble cross-linked component, or (2) a pouch comprising smokeless tobacco enclosed in a water-permeable wrapper. The active ingredient is selected from the group consisting of a mercaptan, camphor, borneol, isoborneol, bornyl acetate, isobornyl acetate, mono-bornyl succinate, mono-isobornyl succinate, mono-bornyl formate, and mono-isobornyl formate. The active ingredient is present in an amount effective to reduce or eliminate the sensory irritation arising from the smokeless tobacco.

PRODUCT PORTION ENROBING MACHINES AND METHODS

An apparatus for enrobing a product portion can include at least one polymer spray head adapted to create at least one flow of polymeric fibers to produce at least one polymer enrobing zone and a conveyor system adapted to move at least one product portion from at least one position below at least one polymer enrobing zone and to at least one position above at least one polymer enrobing zone to drop each product portion through one or more polymer enrobing zones a plurality times at different orientations to enrobe each product portion with polymeric fibers.

An aerosolizable formulation comprising (i) water, (ii) nicotine, (iii) at least one acid, and (iv) one or more flavors, and (v) one or more encapsulating materials, wherein the encapsulating material encapsulates at least one of the one or more flavors in preference to protonated nicotine; wherein the molar ratio of (a) encapsulating material encapsulating the one or more flavors to (b) unencapsulated flavors is greater than the molar ratio of (c) encapsulating material encapsulating nicotine to (d) unencapsulated nicotine. A process for forming the aerosolizable formulation, the aerosolizable formulation contained within a container, and an electronic aerosol provision system capable of aerosolizing the aerosolizable formulation for inhalation by a user.

TOBACCO/MARIJUANA/HEMP PRODUCT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A TOBACCO/MARIJUANA/HEMP PRODUCT FOR USE IN VAPING DEVICE

A method for preparing a wetted vaping product for use with a vaping device includes providing dried leaf matter having been dried to remove moisture content therefrom; one of wetting, soaking, and immersing the dried leaf matter in a solvent; rehydrating the leaf matter with the solvent to increase overall weight of the dried leaf matter at least 5% to 10%; and sizing the leaf matter before and/or after the act of wetting, soaking, and immersing to fit within the vaping device. Another method includes providing leaf matter containing plant oil; mixing the leaf matter and a liquid solvent by immersing and/or soaking the leaf matter with the liquid solvent in a sterile container for at least 30 days; extracting liquid from the mixture of leaf matter and the liquid solvent; and filtering the separated liquid to remove the leaf matter of 3.5 microns to larger from the separated liquid.

AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLE HAVING AEROSOL-GENERATING SUBSTRATE WITH DUAL PLUGS

A heated aerosol-generating article including a rod of aerosol-generating substrate is provided, the rod of aerosol-generating substrate including: a first plug of homogenised tobacco material including an aerosol former; and a second plug of homogenised tobacco material including an aerosol former, where the first plug and the second plug are coaxially aligned in an abutting end-to-end relationship, the first plug being disposed downstream of the second plug, where the first plug and the second plug differ from each other in at least one of density and composition of aerosol former, such that the first plug has a lower activation temperature than the second plug, and where, upon heating of the aerosol-generating substrate, the first plug releases aerosol after a shorter time than the second plug.

MOIST TOBACCO PRODUCT AND METHOD OF MAKING

A portioned moist tobacco product with a super-hydrated membrane coating and method of manufacturing is disclosed. The super-hydrated membrane coating is formed by ionic cross-linking using two polymers. The soluble component of the super-hydrated membrane coating dissolves upon placement in the mouth, while the insoluble component maintains the tobacco within the coating for the duration of the use of the product. The moist tobacco product is soft and flexible so as to fit comfortably in an oral cavity when placed therein.

CONTROL OF PUFF PROFILE
20220202065 · 2022-06-30 ·

Heat not burn products comprising an encapsulated aerosol generating agent, the encapsulation having the effect of controlling the release of the agent during use of the heat not burn product. The encapsulation will control the timing of the release of the aerosol generating agent during the use of the heat not burn product, to allow greater control of the puff yield. In the case of some aerosol generating agents, the encapsulation may also increase the stability of the agent and/or prevent its migration within the product.
