PEST CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD OF OPERATING SAME

A pest control device comprising a capacitive sensor array including a plurality of sensor pads, the capacitive sensor array being configured to generate an electrical output signal indicating the state of each sensor pad, and an electronic controller electrically connected to the capacitive sensor array, the electronic controller including a processor and a memory including a plurality of instructions, which, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to: receive the electrical output signals from the capacitive sensor array, determine a measured capacitance value for each sensor pad based on each electrical output signal, calculate a baseline for each sensor pad based on the measured capacitance value of the sensor pad, determine whether a difference between the measured capacitance value of at least one sensor pad and its corresponding baseline exceeds a first predetermined threshold, update a counter when the first predetermined threshold is exceeded, and record an event indicative of a presence of a pest when the counter exceeds a predetermined limit.

A drone with a high-voltage trap seeks, identifies, pursues and destroys flying insects within a patrolling area. During its passive attracting mode, the drone lands on a designated ground site and attracts insects with light, sound, and scents. Once insects are lured, the high voltage screens trap will immediately electrocute targeted insects. In its active offensive mode, the drone hovers closer to insect nests using its high-velocity propellers, producing strong downdraft jet streams to disturb the nest and force insects, such as mosquitoes and the like, to evacuate their nest. Once insects are airborne, the drone pursues fleeing insects from below or behind, making use of its propellers and vacuuming the fleeing insects. Slow flying insects that come in contact with the high-voltage electrified screens are immediately electrocuted. Insects that are vacuumed into the fast-spinning propellers blades are knocked down and killed. A rectified charging pad recharges the drone batteries.

Insect Trap and Classification System

A monitoring trap and classification system may help pest control professionals, landlords, and homeowners identify, monitor, and manage insects. The trap may have an adhesive area that traps an insect, as well as several features that assist in identifying the insect. A classification system may use a picture or image of the trap to extract the trap's identifier, orient and adjust the image to standardize the image's color and scale, and have the insect identified. The trap and classification system may be used by individual homeowners, tenants, landlords, farmers, and pest professionals to capture, identify, and manage insects. The classification system may reduce the complexity of counting and classifying trapped insects, and it may generate a history through a series of reminders and keeping a database of previous observations.

Real-time insect monitoring device

This invention concerns the in-situ monitoring of insects, and in particular an insect inspection cylinder and trap to facilitate this monitoring. The trap comprises means to intercept flying insects and direct them to an inspection cylinder that is connected to an outlet from the means to intercept flying insects. An insect detector is associated with the cylinder to detect insects inside it, and a camera is associated with the cylinder and the detector to capture images of insects inside the cylinder. Wherein the sectional dimensions of the inspection cylinder are sized to prevent insects selected for observation from flying through it, but instead requiring them to walk through it.

LED INSECT LIGHT TRAP WITH LIGHT TRANSMISSIVE GLUE BOARD

Insect capture is improved by providing a glue board having an adhesive coating on its front surface and forming a pattern of insect attractant UV light on that front surface. That pattern includes areas of bright UV light generated by light-emitting diodes that generate light at different wavelengths behind and visible through the glue board by flying insects, dimmer areas of light generated by said light emitting diodes that bounces off other portions of the device onto the glue board, and areas of shadow on the glue board where no or little light from said light-emitting diodes is present.
