TOUCHLESS GESTURE RECOGNITION FOR ELEVATOR SERVICE

A method for provisioning elevator service includes sensing, by a gesture interface comprising a sensor, a region in proximity to the gesture interface to obtain data; determining, by the gesture interface, that a first pattern in the data corresponds to a first gesture; and initiating a request for elevator service in response to determining that the first pattern corresponds to the first gesture.

Method For Assisting Restricted Or Handicapped People, And Apparatuses For Performing Same

A method is disclosed for assisting limited or handicapped persons wherein an infrastructure unit periodically transmits a signal with an auxiliary function offer from the infrastructure unit, wherein a mobile communication unit, which is situated close to the infrastructure unit, of the limited or handicapped person receives the signal with the auxiliary function offer and takes a use authorization certificate as a basis for forming a signal with an auxiliary function request and returns it to the infrastructure unit, and wherein the infrastructure unit provides at least one auxiliary function for the limited or handicapped person in accordance with the auxiliary function request. This may assist limited or handicapped persons with the auxiliary functions suitable for them in the region of infrastructure elements, e.g., escalators, revolving doors and lifts, in a simple and inexpensive manner, with misuse largely being precluded.

A control system is provided and includes a personnel movement system deployed in a building and passenger and building owner devices. A memory of the passenger device has first executable instructions of a control application stored thereon, which, when executed, cause a passenger device processor to register a passenger with and store a passenger profile of the passenger with the control application and to generate a passenger interface by which the passenger interfaces with the control application. A memory of the building owner device has second executable instructions of the control application stored thereon, which, when executed, cause a business owner device processor to register the building with and store a description of the building with the control application.

GUIDE ROBOTS FOR PASSENGER ASSISTANCE

An automatic wayfinding system is provided and includes a robotic guide, a passenger interface through which a passenger provides an input of a desired destination and a dispatching module, which, upon receipt of the input of the desired destination, dispatches the robotic guide to the passenger. At least one of the robotic guide and the dispatching module have access to a navigation map including the desired destination, a current position of the passenger and information relating to one or more paths from the current position of the passenger to the desired destination. The robotic guide is programmed to lead the passenger along the one or more paths while remaining tethered to the passenger.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ASSISTING A PASSENGER DETECTED AT AN ELEVATOR BANK

An elevator system, having: a call station located in a lobby; a device controller; a proximity sensor, operationally coupled to the device controller, located in the lobby, and configured to generate proximity sensor data utilized by the device controller, a speaker, operationally coupled to the device controller, and located in the lobby, wherein the device controller, from the proximity sensor data, is configured to: detect the presence of a passenger; determine the passenger requires assistance to locate the call station in the lobby; and issue an audible sound from the speaker to guide the passenger to the call station.
