A LIFTING DEVICE AND A METHOD OF LIFTING A TUBULAR PILE
A lifting device for lifting a tubular pile comprises a hoisting member including a centreline, a plurality of engagement elements which are moveably mounted to the hoisting member at angular distance with respect to each other about the centreline and actuators for moving the respective engagement elements with respect to the hoisting member. The engagement elements are moveable in longitudinal direction of the centreline along respective guides of the hoisting member. The guides are inclined with respect to the centreline such that the engagement elements move in radial direction of the centreline when being moved in longitudinal direction of the centreline. The actuators are functionally interconnected such that under operating conditions the actuators move the engagements elements simultaneously until a first one of the actuators reaches a counterforce which is higher than a counterforce of a second one of the actuators, after which the second one of the actuators is moved further.

Lifting device for pipes
A lifting device configured with a linear bearing system operatively associated with a support system configured for raising, lowering and positioning pipes for installation, service, or removal.
Motion arresting and dampening device
In embodiments, motion may be arrested and/or dampened using a motion arresting and dampening device comprising a lifting spreader bar, one or more bar mounted winches, deployment wire, a restorative inflation device, restraining wires and winches, hoses and controller, mechanical connection release system circuitry. Multiple restraints from winches mounted strategically on a vessel crane's boom may be applied to the spreader bar to restrain the bar during the lifting operation. The forces induced into the lifted object by the movement of the crane as it deploys the object into installation position are attenuated by the physical restrain of the adjustable wires. These adjustable wires may also be used to provide rotation of the object during final alignment of the object during installation.

Device and Method for Upending a Tubular Element with a Longitudinal Direction from a Support Surface at an Outer End
Described herein is a device for upending a tubular element with a longitudinal direction from a support surface at an outer end. The device has a support beam which runs substantially parallel to the support surface and is connected to the support surface at a support point. The support beam guides a coupling tool to which a wall part of an outer end of the tubular element can be coupled. The coupling tool is displaceable relative to the support surface with the support beam, from a clear position to a coupled position in which the tubular element outer end is engaged by the coupling tool. Also described herein, in addition to the device, is a method which makes use of the device.

Handling and recovery devices for tubular members and associated methods
Implementations described herein include a hoisting device and method for handling, coupling and recovery of tubular members such as drill string components. The hoisting device has a self-energizing gripping means configured to releasably engage a drill string component. In one aspect, the self-energizing gripping means can be operable to increase at least one of a radial biasing force and a contact friction force applied to a drill string component, causing the gripping means to increase the overall gripping force applied to the component with minimal effort exerted by a hoisting device operator.
