IMPROVED HLB COPOLYMERS

Polymeric adsorbents useful for solid phase extraction (SPE) comprising a copolymer formed by copolymerizing at least one hydrophobic monomer including divinylbenzene and at least one hydrophilic monomer including acrylonitrile. Also provided are SPE cartridges including a divinylbenzene-acrylonitrile hydrophilic-lipophilic balance adsorbent. Further provides are methods of using a divinylbenzene-acrylonitrile hydrophilic-lipophilic balance adsorbent in conventional and simplified SPE techniques.

POLYMERIC SORBENT, PREPARATION AND USE THEREOF

The invention relates to polymer chemistry, specifically to polymer sorbents intended for selective removing cytokines and bacterial endotoxins from whole blood and other body liquids, in particular blood plasma, lymph etc., as well as from aqueous protein solutions and aqueous organic compound solutions, also containing inorganic salts, as well as to method of producing such sorption materials and the method of sorbtion processing liquids using said polymer sorbents. Technical result consists in providing a sorbent that is able to remove both cytokines and bacterial endotoxins, in improving selectivity of the polymer sorbents in respect to said compounds as well as in providing a simple and effective method of producing said sorbent.

Adsorbent for removing histone and purification device for liquid derived from living organism

Provided is an adsorbent for removing histones from a liquid derived from a living-organism, including a water-insoluble carrier and a biocompatible polymer. The carrier has activated carbon, a polyester, a polysulfone, or a cationic functional group. Also provided is a device for purifying a liquid derived from a living-organism to remove histones from a liquid derived from a living-organism, which has a housing equipped with an inlet and an outlet for the liquid derived from the living-organism and the above-described adsorbent housed in the housing. The liquid derived from the living-organism is moved through the housing of device for purifying the liquid derived from the living-organism to remove histones from the liquid derived from the living-organism.

Protein separations using an acrylamide containing filter

Novel compositions for removing impurities such as, protein aggregates, from a sample containing a protein of interest, e.g., an antibody. Such compositions can be used prior to the virus filtration step during protein purification, to remove aggregates and protect the virus filter from fouling, therefore improving virus filter capacity. A porous solid support including a co-polymer having at least two monomers, wherein at least one of the monomers comprises acrylamide and at least a second monomer comprises a hydrophobic binding group, where the solid support selectively binds protein aggregates, thereby to separate the monomeric protein of interest from the protein aggregates. The method can be performed under neutral to high pH and high conductivity conditions.
