Cigarette wrapper with novel pattern
A wrapper for a smoking article has a base web and a plurality of crenellated bands, each having a diffusivity value in the range of 0 to about 0.2 cm/sec. The add-on material can be applied by gravure printing in a single pass in a chevron pattern such that an apex of the element is co-linear with substantially symmetrically spaced points on a trailing, outer edge of an adjacent chevron element. Testing elements may be simultaneously printed with the add-on material to monitor diffusivity and/or presence of add-on material.
Aerosol generating article having modified tipping wrapper and removable tipping wrapper portion
An aerosol generating article (10) comprises: an aerosol generating substrate (12); a mouthpiece (14); and a tipping wrapper (20) comprising: a first weakening line (22) extending around at least a portion of the tipping wrapper (20); a removable tipping wrapper portion (26) extending downstream from the first weakening line (22); an upstream tipping wrapper portion (24) extending upstream from the first weakening line (22); a first longitudinal edge (30) extending along the outer surface of the aerosol generating article; and a second longitudinal edge (32) opposed to the first longitudinal edge (30) and overlying the mouthpiece (14). The tipping wrapper (20) overlaps itself in an overlapping region (28) extending at least 45 degrees circumferentially around the aerosol generating article (10). The removable tipping wrapper portion (26) is adhered to itself by means of an area of adhesive (50) provided in the overlapping region (28) and positioned such that the removable tipping wrapper portion (26) comprises an adhesive free area (52) adjacent at least a portion of the first longitudinal edge (30).
SMOKING ARTICLE WITH REDUCED TOBACCO SMELL AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A smoking article with a reduced tobacco smell and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The smoking article according to some embodiments of the present disclosure may include a smoking material portion, which includes a tobacco material, and a filter portion, wherein the tobacco material may include a material formed by processing tobacco leaves whose nicotine content is 0.5 wt % or lower. In this case, the nicotine component and nitrogen compounds, which are major causes of a tobacco smell, are reduced from tobacco smoke, and thus a tobacco smell of smoke generated during smoking can be significantly reduced.
CIGARETTE ADHESIVE INCLUDING MEDICINAL OR RECREATIONAL SUBSTANCES
A smoking article, such as a cigarette or cigar, having an outer layer and a combustible substance disposed within the outer layer. An adhesive is applied to at least a portion of the outer layer around the combustible substance to create a rolled smoking article. The adhesive includes a predetermined dosage of a cannabinoid, such as, but not limited to, phytocannabinoid thetrahydrocannabinol, cannabidiol, and cannabigerol.
Alternating Patterns In Cigarette Wrapper, Smoking Article and Method
A cigarette wrapper includes transversely extending banded regions applied by a printing technique, such as gravure printing. The banded regions may be applied in a one or more application of a printing composition that may be an aqueous starch solution also containing an anti-wrinkling agent such as propylene glycol, and calcium carbonate. The pattern of banded regions may be bands or stripes and the like along and/or around the tobacco rod. The banded regions may be solid or contain any number of cross-web and/or longitudinal discontinuities. The pattern may be configured so that when a smoking article is placed on a substrate, at least two longitudinal locations along the length of the tobacco rod have film-forming compound located only on sides of the smoking article not in contact with the substrate.
LOW IGNITION PROPENSITY CIGARETTE PAPER AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF
A wrapper of a smoking article includes a base web and at least one transverse banded region. The banded region includes a first zone, a second zone and a third zone of add-on material. The second zone has about 25% to about 75% less add-on material than the first zone and the third zone. The banded region is about 5 mm to about 9 mm wide and the second zone is centrally located between the first zone and the third zone. The second zone includes a plurality of dots of the add-on material spaced from adjacent dots in the second zone by a distance greater than a distance between adjacent dots in the first zone and the third zone.
AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLE HAVING WRAPPER WITH HEAT CONTROL ELEMENT
An aerosol-generating article for an aerosol-generating device having a heating element is provided, the article including: a rod of aerosol-generating substrate; and a wrapper at least partially circumscribing the rod, the wrapper including a heat control element on at least one surface of the wrapper, the heat control element including one or more circumferential bands of a heat-shrinkable material, configured such that upon heating of the heat-shrinkable material to a temperature above a shrink temperature thereof, an internal radius of each of the one of more circumferential bands of the heat-shrinkable material is reduced by at least 20 percent compared to an internal radius of the respective circumferential band prior to heating, whereby a portion of the substrate underlying the heat control element is deformed such that a resistance to draw (RTD) of the article is increased, and the shrink temperature is between about 180° C. and about 300° C.
SMOKING ARTICLE
Disclosed is a material for wrapping a smoking article (1), comprising wrapper (3) material and a flavourant patch (10), wherein said flavourant patch comprises a botanical material other than tobacco. Also disclosed is a smoking article including a rod of smokeable material (2), a wrapper (3) about said rod of smokeable material, and a flavourant patch (10) at a position along the length of the rod of smokeable material; wherein the flavourant patch includes a botanical material other than tobacco. Also disclosed is a material for wrapping a smoking article (101), comprising wrapper material (103), a first tobacco flavour patch (110) and a second tobacco flavour patch (111), the first and second tobacco flavour patches being configured such that, when the material is wrapped about a rod of smokeable material, the first and second tobacco flavour patches will each be at a different position along the rod of smokeable material. Also disclosed is a smoking article (101) including a rod of smokeable material (102), a wrapper (103) about said rod of smokeable material, a first tobacco flavour patch (110) at a first position along the length of the rod of smokeable material, and a second tobacco flavour patch (111) at a second position along the length of the rod of smokeable material, the first position being different from the second position; wherein the first tobacco flavour patch and the second tobacco flavour patch do not contain a flavourant other than tobacco.
