A system includes system at least one dispenser configured to dispense to dispense a plurality of segments on a first conveying path and a spacing drum configured to receive a number of the plurality of segments per revolution of the drum and configured to release the number of segments on a second conveying path at a segment-release spacing and a segment-release speed along the conveying path, the number of the plurality of segments being at least three and the number of segments released by the spacing drum forming a filter element.

System and Method for Incorporating and Releasing a Substance into a Smokable Material
20210068450 · 2021-03-11 ·

A system and method for incorporating and releasing a substance into a smokable material is provided. In one embodiment of the present invention, a smokable element (e.g., a cigarette) includes a first wrapper and a filler (e.g., tobacco, cannabis, etc.) encased by the first wrapper. A capsule is then embedded within the filler and a second wrapper is placed over the first wrapper adjacent the capsule. The capsule may comprise a liquid (e.g., cannabinoids, terpenes, etc.) encased within a shell. By squeezing the second wrapper, the shell can be crushed (or broken open), releasing the liquid into the filler, thereby creating a splash zone. Vapors and/or smoke from the splash zone can then be inhaled by a user, enhancing the user's smoking experience.

A backing with corrugations on a first surface. The corrugations are parallel and each has an airspace along an entire longitudinal length. A second surface of the backing includes perforations or scores oriented perpendicularly or parallel to the corrugations. The corrugations or scores are fold lines or frangible tear lines. The airspaces may also include a filter material. The second surface of the backing may be adhered to a corner of a rolling paper on the surface but opposite edge as a gum strip. The corrugations are parallel to the gum strip.

INTERFACE FOR SMOKABLE ELEMENT TO CONNECT TO A SMOKE AND/OR TAR FILTER AND RELATED METHODS
20190373945 · 2019-12-12 ·

Various structures for interfaces for a smokable element to connect to a smoke and/or tar filter, and related methods, are provided. For example, the structures and methods enable repeatably and securely connecting or interfacing a smokable element, e.g., an herbal joint, to an air filter, e.g., a smoke and/or tar filter. For instance, an interface can have a horn-shaped end with a deformable opening that receives a smokable element, creating at least a partial seal between the deformable opening of the horn-shaped end and the smokable element. Also, the other end of the interface can have a round end that attaches to an air filter.

SMOKABLE INSERT SYSTEM INCLUDING FLAVOR RELEASING MECHANISM HELD BY A LOWER PARTITION
20240130421 · 2024-04-25 ·

An insert system for use with a smokable (e.g., such as a pre-rolled or empty cone) including an internal partition that extends from the insert system's first end to an intermediate location between the insert system's first and its second end. A flavor releasing mechanism (e.g., a flavor ball) is located within the insert system between the intermediate location and the system's second end. Accordingly, the internal partition obstructs the flavor releasing mechanism from passing through the system's first end. The system's second end includes an obstructor (e.g., a perforated cap) thereby obstructing the flavor releasing mechanism from passing through the system's second end. The insert system may then be coupled with a smokable item to serve as the item's mouthpiece.
