A segment of a smoking article is shown, comprising a fiber-based web material and a wrapping material, which wraps the fiber-based web material, wherein the fiber-based web material comprises at least 40% pulp fibers and less than 10% non-natural polymers, respectively with respect to the mass of the web material, has a basis weight of at least 10 g/m.sup.2 and at most 70 g/m.sup.2, and has a thickness of at least 25 m and at most 400 μm, wherein said web material in the segment has an area of at least 20 cm.sup.2 and at most 90 cm.sup.2 per cm.sup.3 volume of the segment, wherein the segment without the wrapping material has a density of at least 50 kg/m.sup.3 and at most 300 kg/m.sup.3, and wherein a parameter Z, which is defined by Z=ρ.sub.Web+5.Math.ρ.sub.seg+12.Math.A.sub.Web, satisfies the inequality 1300≤Z≤2800, wherein ρ.sub.Web is the density of the web material in kg/m.sup.3, ρ.sub.Seg is the density of the segment without wrapping material in kg/m.sup.3, and A.sub.Web is the area of the web material per volume of the segment in cm.sup.2/cm.sup.3.

VARIABLE-VENTILATION FILTER TIP AND CIGARETTE

The invention discloses a variable-ventilation filter tip and a cigarette. The filter tip includes a filter element and a coating layer. The coating layer wraps the filter element. The filter element includes a smoke inlet end and a smoke release end. A phase-change ventilation area and a non-phase-change ventilation area are arranged on the coating layer, a plurality of first ventilation holes are arranged in the phase-change ventilation area, and a plurality of second ventilation holes are arranged in the non-phase-change ventilation area. Outside air penetrates through the coating layer through the first ventilation holes and the second ventilation holes to enter a part of the filter element. A part in the filter element close to the smoke inlet end is provided with a starch tube. A phase-change material is filled in the first ventilation hole. A phase-change temperature of the phase-change material ranges from 45° C. to 60° C.

A smoking cessation device that utilizes a structured, flexible tube similar in size and shape to a standard cigarette. The tube is impregnated with flavored oils for the enjoyment of the user. The method of producing the smoking cessation device is performed by mixing the flavored oil with a high-proof alcohol and spraying the mixture onto the tube. After the alcohol evaporates, the tube retains the flavored oils, providing a pleasant taste to the user. A user can use the smoking cessation device by biting and or chewing on the end of it to restrict air flow making it feel similar to a cigarette.

STARCH-BASED COOLING MATERIAL AND APPLICATION THEREOF

A starch-based cooling material of the invention is prepared by 8.0 to 9.0 parts of a starch, 0.5 to 1.0 part of a phase change material, and 0.5 to 1.0 a part of polyol. The starch-based cooling material of the invention is prepared by coordination of the starch, the phase change material and the polyol, wherein the phase change material has effects of absorbing and storing heat, a temperature of smoke can be significantly reduced, an effect of fast and strong cooling is realized, and a cooling effect can reach 70° C. to 120° C. All the raw materials for preparing are biodegradable materials, and a prepared heat-not-burn cigarette filter stick can be degraded after use, which is environmental friendly, and can be widely used in the field of preparing heat-not-burning cigarette products.
