STARCH-BASED COOLING MATERIAL AND APPLICATION THEREOF
A starch-based cooling material of the invention is prepared by 8.0 to 9.0 parts of a starch, 0.5 to 1.0 part of a phase change material, and 0.5 to 1.0 a part of polyol. The starch-based cooling material of the invention is prepared by coordination of the starch, the phase change material and the polyol, wherein the phase change material has effects of absorbing and storing heat, a temperature of smoke can be significantly reduced, an effect of fast and strong cooling is realized, and a cooling effect can reach 70° C. to 120° C. All the raw materials for preparing are biodegradable materials, and a prepared heat-not-burn cigarette filter stick can be degraded after use, which is environmental friendly, and can be widely used in the field of preparing heat-not-burning cigarette products.
Plasma treatment of filtration media for smoking articles
A smoking article includes smokable material, a filter downstream of the smokable material, and a breakable capsule (80). The filter is plasma treated or has an increased surface energy relative to standard filter material. The breakable capsule (80) includes a core surrounded by a frangible shell. The core contains a liquid composition comprising a sensory-enhancing agent. The breakable capsule is positioned to cause the liquid composition to contact the filter material (32) when the shell is ruptured.

A TOBACCO INDUSTRY PRODUCT COMPONENT AND A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A TOBACCO INDUSTRY PRODUCT COMPONENT
The present invention relates to a tobacco industry product component comprising a wall circumscribing a cavity. A plurality of additive capsules and a plurality of particles are disposed in the cavity. The particles are configured such that, in use, the particles promote breaking of the additive capsules upon the application of an external force to the wall of the tobacco industry product component by a user. The particles may comprise a material having a particle density of at least 1 g/cc. There is also provided a method of manufacturing a tobacco industry product component.

Flavour System
There is provided a flavour system for use in a tobacco industry product. The flavour system comprises lyophilised botanical material, an activator capable of releasing flavourant from the lyophilised botanical material through contact of the activator with the lyophilised botanical material, and a removable barrier preventing contact between the lyophilised botanical material and the activator. The barrier is removable to permit the activator to contact the lyophilised botanical material, thereby to cause release of the flavourant.
