Induction welding process and device for parts made of composite materials
A device comprising at least one pressure generation unit and a heating unit, the heating unit comprising a two-sided inductor and being configured to generate a uniform alternating magnetic field in an assembly comprising two parts made of composite materials comprising carbon fibers embedded in a resin and a field absorber. The field absorber is configured to absorb the magnetic field and comprising a ferromagnetic material. The field absorber is arranged at the contact walls of the two parts, so as to heat them to at least a transformation temperature of the resin.
Inductor for induction welding of a packaging material
An inductor for induction welding of a packaging material having at least one layer of metal foil is disclosed. The inductor comprises a welding surface configured to be arranged opposite the packaging material for heating thereof, and at least one spacing element arranged to protrude from the welding surface in a first direction towards the packaging material, when the packaging material is arranged opposite the welding surface, whereupon the least one spacing element separates the packaging material from the welding surface by an off-set distance. A sealing machine for sealing packaging material and a method of welding a packaging material is also disclosed.
Power transfer unit
The disclosure relates to a power-transfer unit for a sealing unit of a packaging machine comprising a support, intended to be attached to a sealing unit, a power bar comprising a contact-initiation section, a contact-termination section, and an intermediate section therebetween, the power bar being resiliently suspended in the support and being movable along a first direction being normal to a contact surface of the intermediate section. The power bar is suspended in the support by a first leaf spring.
A PACKAGE SEAL CONTROL SYSTEM, AN UPGRADE KIT, AND A METHOD FOR MONITORING AND OPTIONALLY CONTROLLING THE LONGITUDINAL SEAL OF A PACKAGE MATERIAL IN A PACKAGING AND FILLING MACHINE
The present invention relates to a package seal control system (300), comprising a control unit (308), and data recording means (306) adapted to be communicatively connected to the control unit, wherein said data recording means (306) is adapted to monitor a longitudinal seal (302) extending in a direction conforming to a direction of flow of a packaging material (e.g. Tetra Pak) in a packaging and filling machine (100). The present invention further relates to its use and method for monitoring and optionally controlling the longitudinal seal (302) of a package material in a packaging and filling machine (100).
A SEALING DEVICE, AND A PACKAGING CONTAINER
A sealing device for forming a transversal seal to a tetrahedral packaging container is provided. The sealing device comprises a sealing element and an imprint ruler arranged at a longitudinal distance from the sealing element. The sealing element is configured to provide a top transversal seal to a packaging container while the imprint ruler is configured to provide a transversal imprint to the same packaging container.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THERMOPLASTIC WELDING USING AN INDUCED THERMAL GRADIENT
A system and method for thermoplastic composite welding comprising a cooling means and a heat source. The cooling means cools a heat-side laminate so as to create a thermal gradient in the heat-side laminate. The heat source heats the heat-side laminate after the cooling step is initiated but before the thermal gradient dissipates so that a first side of the heat-side laminate closer to the heat source does not deform as faying surfaces of the heat-side laminate and another laminate farther away from the heat source are welded together.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE HIGH-SPEED APPLICATION OF PAPER-BASED END CLOSURES ON COMPOSITE CONTAINERS
A system for assembling a container and closure comprising an expanding collet which has a plurality of pivoting collet segments, each configured to simultaneously pivot radially outward about a pivot point and comprising. The collet comprises a lip that is engagable with the rim of the open end of the container and an angled tip positioned radially inward from the lip and shaped to press a countersink portion of the closure against an interior wall of the container as the collet segments pivot radially outward. As the container and the chuck are brought together, the rim engages with the lips of the collet segments and causes the angled tips of the collet segments to pivot outward toward the interior wall of the container, thereby pushing the countersink portion of the closure against the interior wall of the container.
Induction sealing device
An induction sealing device for induction welding of a packaging material is disclosed. In some embodiments, the induction sealing device comprises an inductor coil configured to induce an alternating current in a metal foil of the packaging material for inductive heating thereof. The induction sealing device can further comprise a magnetic insert encapsulating the inductor coil apart from an outer portion of the inductor coil, and the outer portion can be arranged towards the packaging material to be sealed. In some embodiments, the magnetic insert is configured to interact with the packaging material to be sealed via at least one interactive surface. In some embodiments, the induction sealing device comprises a connection unit. The connection unit can comprise a parallel connection configured to connect to the inductor coil and to an AC power source. A corresponding method of manufacturing an induction sealing device is also disclosed.
Aroma penetration heat seal liner and method of sealing a container
A non-venting one-piece, partially perforated multilayer induction heat seal liner for a container that allows an aroma or scent from a solid substance within the sealed container to permeate through the liner, while preventing leakage and/or physical contact of the substance by the consumer. The liner includes a partial perforation extending completely through a metal foil layer, and leaving an un-perforated thickness in a paper layer. The partial perforation will allow a prospective customer to sniff the scent or aroma released through the partial perforation, while the liner remains secured to the container, extending shelf life of the substance, and preventing leakage, as well as, contamination, damage and/or reduced volume caused by consumers sampling the substance/product within the container.
Packaging material and method for providing a packaging material
A packaging material having a core layer and inside and outside laminate portions is provided. The packaging material comprises a first area to form a first package, and a second area to form a second and adjacent package. The first area and the second area have a transversal sealing area between them, and the core layer is provided with at least one weakening portion at the transversal sealing area.
