METHOD OF IMPROVING OPTICAL QUALITY OF CURVED GLASS STRUCTURES
Shaped glass structures, in particular to curved glass structures, having optically improved transmittance are provided along with methods of making such glass structures. Articles and methods described herein mask tube or reforming defects with help of refractive index-matching substances (e.g. optically clear adhesives) and/or additional glass layers. The articles and methods are applicable to any shaped glass, and is particularly useful for 3D-shaped parts for use in portable electronic devices.
WALK-ON LAMINATED SAFETY GLASS PANE HAVING AN ANTI-SLIP SURFACE
A walk-on laminated safety glass pane having an anti-slip surface is decribed. The laminated safety glass pane includes at least two glass panes, which are permanently bonded to each other using a polymeric layer.
A polymeric intermediate layer is applied to one surface of the laminated safety glass pane.
A glass pane having an anti-slip surface is applied to the polymeric intermediate layer.
An elastic polymeric gasket is inserted circumferentially in the edge region of the polymeric intermediate layer.
The laminated safety glass pane has a drilled hole and the drilled hole is sealed at subatmospheric pressure.
MULTIPLE GLAZING UNIT
A multiple glazing unit having two outermost glass panes and at least one inner glass pane, where at least two intermediate gas-filled cavities each lie between two glass panes, the at least one inner glass pane bearing one metal-based insulating coating on one face and one transparent conductive oxide-based insulating coating on the opposite face, and a process for making the glazing.
LIGHT GUIDE PLATE AND TRANSPARENT ILLUMINATION SYSTEM UTILIZING THE SAME
A transparent illumination system and related light guide plate is provided. The system is configured to facilitate total internal reflection propagation of light through the light guide plate despite low index of refraction differences between the glass material of the light guide layer and the adjacent layer. The system includes a light source, such as a laser diode, and an optical element to fan out light from the light source in the plane of the light guide plate. The light guide plate includes internal light extraction features.
Aeronautical laminated glazing with minimum deformation in the event of all of the glass sheets of same breaking
A laminated glazing for a vehicle or a building, includes an inner structural glass sheet having a surface compressive stress of between 400 and 1000 MPa with exchange depths of between 100 and 500, for example at least equal to 150 μm and an outer structural glass sheet having a surface compressive stress of between 50 and 300 MPa with exchange depths of between 50 and 100 μm, on condition that the product of the two is at most equal to 25 000 MPa.Math.μm.
LAMINATED GLASS
Laminated glass for a vehicle includes a vehicle-interior side glass plate, a vehicle-exterior side glass plate, an interlayer film that bonds the vehicle-interior side glass plate and the vehicle-exterior side glass plate, and a structure sealed in the interlayer film. The interlayer film includes a first interlayer film bonded to the vehicle-interior side glass plate, a second interlayer film bonded to the vehicle-exterior side glass plate, and a third interlayer film located between the first interlayer film and the second interlayer film to enclose an outer periphery of the structure. Where a film thickness of the first interlayer film or the second interlayer film, whichever is thinner, is denoted as ti, and a thickness of the structure is denoted as ts, ti/ts≥0.4 is satisfied. Where a flexural modulus of the structure is denoted as E.sub.1 [MPa], a relationship between ts and E.sub.1 satisfies E.sub.1×ts.sup.3≥500.
SAFETY GLAZING
A fireproof/bullet-proof safety glazing that includes a laminated assembly I of glass sheets, the laminate I, the glass sheets of which are assembled by means of thermoplastic interlayer sheets and n layers of intumescent material made from hydrated alkali silicate, with 1≤n≤3. The laminate I also includes a fireproof module comprising the n layers of intumescent material made of hydrated alkali silicate and n+1 glass sheets, the module being flanked on either side by at least one interlayer thermoplastic sheet and at least one glass sheet. The laminate I does not include organic glass sheets made from a polymer material that is rigid at ambient temperature. The glazing includes at least six glass sheets.
LIGHT-WEIGHT HYBRID GLASS LAMINATES
A glass laminate comprises an external glass sheet, an internal glass sheet, and a polymer interlayer formed between the external glass sheet and the internal glass sheet. The external glass sheet can be a thin chemically-strengthened glass sheet or can be a non-chemically strengthened glass sheet, the polymer interlayer can have a thickness of less than 1.6 mm, and the internal glass sheet can be a non-chemically-strengthened glass sheet or a thin chemically strengthened glass sheet.
GLASS LAMINATE SOUND DIFFUSERS AND METHODS
Transparent or translucent sound diffusers include a first glass sheet of less than 0.8 mm thickness and a second glass sheet of less than 0.8 mm thickness with a transparent or translucent adhesive layer there between, the adhesive layer adhering the first and second sheets in a fixed configuration such that a first major surface of the first glass sheet has a smooth, repeatedly rising and falling shape. The diffusers are secured to a wall or ceiling or to a wall or ceiling mount or to a wall or ceiling panel.
Exterior glass trim element for vehicle
An exterior trim element for a motor vehicle which includes a cover part made of glass disposed on a support member.
