Window assembly

A window assembly includes a first pane of glass. The first pane of glass is chemically strengthened and exhibits a surface compressive stress of 400 MPa or more. A second pane of glass has a first major surface and a second major surface. The second major surface of the second pane of glass and a first major surface of the first pane of glass face each other. The second pane of glass includes 68-74 weight % SiO.sub.2, 2-6 weight % MgO, 1-10 weight % CaO, 12-16 weight % Na.sub.2O, 0-1 weight % K.sub.2O, 0.8-2.0 weight % Fe.sub.2O.sub.3 (total iron), 0-1.25 weight % TiO.sub.2, and 0-1.25 weight % CeO.sub.2. A polymeric interlayer is provided between the first pane of glass and the second pane of glass. The window assembly exhibits a direct solar transmittance of 55% or less and a total solar transmittance of 65% or less.

A head-up display device that is to be mounted in a moving vehicle and enables an occupant in the moving vehicle to view a virtual image based on a reflected image of projection light in a projection section, the projection section including an interlayer film, a first glass plate disposed closer to an outside of the moving vehicle, and a second glass plate disposed closer to an inside of the moving vehicle, the first glass plate and the second glass plate disposed opposite each other with the interlayer film therebetween, the first glass plate having a first main surface exposed to the outside and a second main surface opposite the first main surface, the second glass plate having a fourth main surface exposed to the inside and a third main surface opposite the fourth main surface, the first glass plate and the second glass plate each having a tin surface on which tin is detected and a non-tin surface whose tin concentration is lower than the tin concentration on the tin surface, the fourth main surface being defined by the non-tin surface, the virtual image being based on a reflected image formed on the fourth main surface, the projection light including S-polarized light and P-polarized light, wherein when the projection light is mixed light of S-polarized light and P-polarized light in equal proportions, the projection light has a first maximum peak intensity within a wavelength range of 400 nm to less than 500 nm of 1.25 to 2.5 times a second maximum peak intensity within a wavelength range of 500 nm to 700 nm, a reflectance on the fourth main surface at a wavelength of the first maximum peak intensity is higher than a reflectance on the fourth main surface at a wavelength of the second maximum peak intensity, and a difference between the reflectances is 0.15% or less.

A projection arrangement for a head-up display (HUD), includes a composite pane, including an outer and an inner pane connected to one another via a thermoplastic intermediate layer, with an HUD region; an electrically conductive coating on the surface of the outer pane or of the inner pane facing or within the intermediate layer; and a projector directed toward the HUD region. The radiation of the projector is p-polarised. The composite pane has reflectance of at least 10% relative to p-polarised radiation in the spectral range from 450 nm to 650 nm. The electrically conductive coating includes at least four electrically conductive layers, which are each arranged between two dielectric layers or layer sequences. The sum of the thicknesses of all electrically conductive layers is at most 30 nm and at least one of the electrically conductive layers has a thickness of at most 5 nm.

Embodiments of a laminate including a first curved glass substrate comprising a first viscosity (poises) at a temperature of 630° C.; a second curved glass substrate comprising a second viscosity that is greater than the first viscosity at a temperature of 630° C.; and an interlayer disposed between the first curved glass substrate and the second curved glass substrate, are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, the first curved glass substrate exhibits a first sag depth that is within 10% of a second sag depth of the second curved glass substrate. In one or more embodiments, the first glass substrate and the second glass substrate exhibit a shape deviation therebetween of about ±5 mm or less as measured by an optical three-dimensional scanner or exhibit minimal optical distortion. Embodiments of vehicles including such laminates and methods for making such laminates are also disclosed.

The present invention provides a composite material of laminated curved glass and a manufacturing method thereof, the composite material of laminated curved glass includes a first glass plate, a prefabricated part, and an adhesive film configured between the first glass plate and the prefabricated part, the thickness of the first glass plate is 0.1 mm to 2.2 mm. The manufacturing method of the composite material of laminated curved glass includes processing the first glass plate with strengthening treatment, providing the adhesive film, laminating the first glass plate processed by the strengthening treatment, the adhesive film, and the prefabricated part in sequence, and then performing a low temperature press molding process to obtain the composite material of laminated curved glass. The method of the present bents the glass without high temperature to soften the glass.
