Ink jet recording apparatus

An ink jet recording apparatus includes a cap, a control unit, and a recording unit having nozzle arrays each including a plurality of nozzles for ejecting ink in an image recording operation. The cap receives ink preliminarily ejected from the recording unit. The control unit controls an ejection operation to eject ink in response to receiving a recording command to cause an amount of ink ejected from a first nozzle group in a first preliminary ejection executed prior to the recording operation of the image to be smaller than an amount of ink ejected from a second nozzle group different from the first nozzle group in a second preliminary ejection executed prior to the recording operation of the image in a case where the recording command includes an instruction for recording the image by using the second nozzle group without using the first nozzle group among the plurality of nozzles.

Some embodiments relate to an inkjet printing unit for cards is described, which comprises a transport system with a transport device for the cards through the printing unit, a first inkjet printing head that moves between a rest position and a printing position, a second inkjet printing head that moves between a rest position and a printing position, wherein the first and second printing heads work independently and are activated to print in the same or different zones to make it possible to print elements, each with a different ink, or combined; a printing method for cards with this inkjet printing unit is also described.

INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS

An inkjet recording apparatus includes an ink container, one or more recording heads, an ink flow path, a negative pressure regulation valve, a cap, a suction pump, and a waste ink discharge path. The negative pressure regulation valve includes an inflow-side pressure chamber, an outflow-side pressure chamber, a communication hole, a first outflow hole and a second outflow hole respectively formed in the outflow-side pressure chamber so as to be below and above the communication hole, and respectively communicating with the first outflow path and the second outflow path, and a valve member that opens and closes the communication hole. The first outflow path communicates with the recording heads. The second outflow path communicates with an inside of the cap or a waste ink discharge path, and is provided with an opening/closing valve.

INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS

An inkjet recording apparatus has a conveyance portion conveying a sheet while electrostatically attracting it onto a conveyance belt, a recording portion having a recording head and disposed opposite the conveyance surface of the conveyance belt, a cap attached to the ink ejection surface of the recording head, a suction pump sucking the air inside the cap, an ink discharge passage, a static eliminating device, a control portion, and a foreign matter suction passage. The static eliminating device has a roll-form static eliminating brush, a brush drive motor rotating the brush forward with respect to the movement direction of the conveyance belt, a duct covering the side of the static eliminating brush opposite from the conveyance belt, and a scraper scraping off foreign matter adhering to the static eliminating brush. Through the foreign matter suction passage the duct and the suction pump communicate with each other.
