A recording apparatus includes a liquid ejection head including a plurality of nozzles configured to eject a liquid onto a medium, the liquid ejection head being elongated in a medium width direction that is a direction intersecting a medium transport direction, a facing portion disposed to face the liquid ejection head, and a wiper configured to wipe a head surface of the liquid ejection head while moving in the medium width direction, and the wiper is provided on a wiper carriage that moves in the medium width direction using power from a first motor, and an edge detection unit for detecting an edge of the medium is included at a position facing the facing unit in the wiper carriage.

A liquid ejecting head includes: a plurality of pressure generating chambers communicating with nozzles through which a liquid is ejected; a manifold communicating with the plurality of pressure generating chambers; a flexible member that has a surface on one side which defines at least a part of a wall of the manifold, that has a surface on the other side, on which an adhesive layer is formed, and that has a compliance region, which is able to perform deflection in response to pressure fluctuation in the manifold, in a region in which the adhesive layer is formed; a compliance space disposed on a side opposite to the manifold through the flexible member; a cap member facing the flexible member through the compliance space; and a frame-like member that is disposed between the flexible member and the cap member and has a cantilever, in which the cantilever is fixed to at least a part of the flexible member of the compliance region and has an unfixed region which is not fixed to the cap member on the distal end side thereof.

A printhead maintenance cap for attachment to a printhead, the cap comprising: a main body defining a chamber into which rinse fluid passes from the printhead during a cleaning cycle; a seal for engagement with the printhead prior to a cleaning cycle starting; and a venting system for equalizing the pressure in the chamber and the surrounding atmosphere.

A liquid ejection head is a liquid ejection head configured to be attachable to and detachable from a liquid ejection apparatus. A maintenance device maintains a head unit including a plurality of inkjet heads. The maintenance device includes a plurality of caps, one air pump, and a plurality of supply parts. The caps are provided for the inkjet heads, and attached to nozzle surfaces of the inkjet heads. The air pump supplies air to a plurality of places. The supply parts are provided for the caps, store a humidifying medium, generate a humidified air by passing air supplied from the air pump, and supply the humidified air to the caps.

A maintenance device a maintains a head unit including inkjet heads. The maintenance device includes a plurality of caps, an air supply port and an air discharge port, one recovery part, and a plurality of air supply parts. The caps are provided for the inkjet heads, and attached on nozzle surfaces of the inkjet heads. The air supply port and the air discharge port are provided for the cap. The recovery part recovers air through the air discharge ports of all the caps. The supply parts are provided for the caps, and supply a humidified air generated by humidifying the air recovered by the recovery part, to the air supply ports. The supply parts are arranged around the recovery part. In the cap, the air discharge port is provided on a side of the recovery part, and the air supply port is provided on a side of the supply part.

A maintenance device maintains a head unit including an inkjet head. The maintenance device includes a cap, a supply part, an air pump, and a restriction part. The cap is attached to a nozzle surface of the inkjet head. The supply part stores a humidifying medium, generates a humidified air by passing air through the humidifying medium, and supplies the humidified air to the cap. The air pump sends air recovered from the cap to the supply part through a supply flow pass. The restriction part is provided in the supply flow pass, and generates a loss of pressure of 4/R or more (: a surface tension of the humidifying medium WM, R: an inner diameter of the supply flow pass).
