PRINTING SYSTEM
A printing system includes an acquirer, a comparator, a calculator, and an allocator. The acquirer acquires the number of media printed by a first printing device installed at a first location. The comparator compares the number of printed media acquired by the acquirer with the number of media specified based on a billing amount. The calculator calculates a first number of printable media of the first printing device based on the comparison by the comparator. The allocator allocates at least a part of the first number of printable media calculated by the calculator as a second number of printable media to a second printing device installed at a second location. The second printing device can perform printing as a billing target based on the second number of printable media.
INK-JET RECORDING APPARATUS
An ink-jet recording apparatus includes a recording head, an ink reservoir portion, an ink amount sensor, a dot counter, and a control portion. The ink reservoir portion stores ink to he ted to the recording head. The ink amount sensor senses the amount of ink in the ink reservoir portion. The dot counter for measures in a cumulative manner the number of dots in the ink ejected from the recording head. The control portion changes the amount of ink ejected from the recording head based on the difference between a calculated value of the amount of consumed ink as calculated based on the cumulative number of dots measured by the dot counter and a measured value of the amount of consumed ink as determined based on the amount of ink in the ink reservoir portion as sensed by the ink amount sensor.
Ink cartridge activation
An Imaging device includes a print monitoring engine to monitor an ink level of an ink cartridge installed in the imaging device and track a print count for each ink level. The print count for each ink level indicates a number of prints printed during a one percent drop in the ink level. Further, a print capacity estimation engine is to determine an average print rate for the ink cartridge based on the print count for each one percent drop in ink level and determine a print capacity estimate of the ink cartridge based at least on the average print rate and the current ink level. Further, an Ink cartridge controlling engine is to deactivate the ink cartridge upon occurrence of a predetermined event and activate the deactivated ink cartridge in response to an activation input from a user, wherein the activation input is based on the print capacity estimate.
PRINT APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD OF THE SAME, PRINTHEAD, AND PRINT SYSTEM
A print unit includes a reactive liquid element row in which a plurality of print elements are arrayed in a first direction, a first element row in which a plurality of print elements are arrayed in the first direction, and a second element row in which a plurality of print elements are arrayed in the first direction. The reactive liquid element row, the first element row, and the second element row are arrayed in this order in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. A scan unit scans the print unit in the second direction. A print control unit controls a print operation by the print unit such that a ratio of the number of pixels permitted to eject the second ink to the number of pixels in a predetermined region on the print medium does not exceed a threshold.
Filtering printing fluid
Disclosed is a method to mitigate deterioration of printing fluid in a tank of a printer. The method comprises: draining printing fluid from a tank of a printer, and stopping the draining before the tank is empty, wherein the printing fluid comprises solids suspended in imaging oil, filtering the printing fluid drained from the tank, to separate at least some of the solids from the imaging oil, passing the filtered imaging oil to a reservoir; and then passing imaging oil from the reservoir to the tank. Also disclosed is a printer and a system to perform the method.
Print fluids refills
Aspects of the disclosure provide an electronic device comprising a controller. The controller to determine a volume of print fluid in a first tank of the electronic device, monitor current printing conditions of the electronic device disposing print fluid on a substrate, determine, based on the volume of print fluid and the current printing conditions, whether an adverse printing condition exists, responsive to the volume of print fluid being less than a threshold and the adverse printing condition not existing, control a pump to refill the first tank from a second tank at a flow rate determined at least partially according to the determined volume, and responsive to the volume of print fluid being less than the threshold and the adverse printing condition existing, control the pump to refill the first tank from the second tank at a default flow rate determined independent of the determined volume.
PRINTING APPARATUS
A first printing unit and a second printing unit are supplied with ink from a first sub-tank and a second sub-tank, respectively. The first sub-tank and the second sub-tank are supplied with the ink from a first branch pipe and a second branch pipe, respectively. The first branch pipe is provided with a first valve, and the second branch pipe is provided with a second valve. A central control unit determines which one of the first sub-tank and the second sub-tank is to be preferentially supplied with ink based on at least one of the amount of remaining ink in each of the first sub-tank and the second sub-tank, and an estimated amount of consumption of ink in each of the first printing unit and the second printing unit, and controls the first valve and the second valve based on a result of the determination.
PRINTING DEVICE STARTUP LEVEL BASED ON COMPUTED PEN AGE
A non-limiting example method of printing device startup based on computed pen age includes reading a pen manufacturing date encoded in a pen of a printing device. The method includes computing a pen age for the pen of the printing device based on the pen manufacturing date, and selecting a startup level based on the computed pen age.
ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT, DESIGN SELECTING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
Disclosed is an electronic equipment including: a memory in which a program is stored; and at least one processor that executes the program stored in the memory. The processor obtains ink information including information regarding a percentage of an ink remaining amount for each of a first ink and a second ink that has a color different from a color of the first ink in a print head that prints the first ink and the second ink, and selects a printing design based on the ink information.
Printing apparatus, and ink residual amount control method
A printing apparatus includes a nozzle inspection unit configured to inspect nozzle clogging of a nozzle, a discharged dot count unit configured to count a number of times a discharge signal is transmitted to the nozzle, a storage unit configured to store ink residual amount-related information containing an ink consumption amount for one dot, and an ink residual amount control unit configured to calculate an ink consumption amount based on the number of times the discharge signal is transmitted counted by the discharged dot count unit and the ink consumption amount for one dot, and to update the residual amount of the ink retained in the ink retaining unit. The printing apparatus removes the nozzle determined to be clogged by the inspection of the nozzle clogging by the nozzle inspection unit from the nozzles targeted for calculating the ink consumption amount.
