Liquid holding container and recording apparatus
A liquid holding container includes a top face portion having an opening portion, a bottom face portion facing the top face portion, a first ink absorber being disposed near the opening portion and layered in a first direction from the bottom face portion to the top face portion, the first ink absorber being configured to absorb a liquid introduced from the opening portion, and a second ink absorber being disposed outside the first absorber in a second direction that intersects the first direction and layered in the second direction, the second ink absorber being configured to absorb the liquid moving from the first ink absorber.
FILLING APPARATUS AND FILLING METHOD
A filling apparatus that fills a container provided with an interior space, an opening through which the interior space and the outside communicate with each other, and a bottom surface, with a liquid absorber having a water absorbent resin absorbing a liquid, the apparatus includes a stage on which the container is placed, and a vibration applying portion that applies a vibration to the container placed on the stage, in which the vibration is applied as a vibration plane formed in an angle range in which an angle to a horizontal plane is within 030.
WASTE LIQUID BOX MANAGEMENT METHOD, WASTE LIQUID BOX, PRINTER, AND WASTE LIQUID BOX MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A waste liquid box management method sets a type of ink to be contained in a container, for a waste liquid box that includes a coupling portion coupled to a printer, the container containing ink discharged from the printer via the coupling portion, and a storage unit. The waste liquid box management method individually allocates different storage regions, in the storage unit, to a plurality of ink types, writes predetermined type specification data into a selected storage region, that is the storage region allocated to the ink type to be contained in the container, and inhibits writing to the storage region other than the selected storage region in a state in which data other than the type specification data is stored therein.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND INK CONTAINER
An image forming apparatus includes a container guide and a latch mechanism. The latch mechanism includes a pin and a pin supporting member. The latch mechanism permits an attachment of the ink container to the container guide when the ink container is pushed in an attachment direction and the pin is stored in a first storage part and permits a detachment of the ink container from the container guide when the ink container attached to the container guide is pushed in the attachment direction and the pin is removed from the first storage part. The pin supporting member includes a boss. The boss is stored in a second storage part when the pin is stored in the first storage part, and the boss is removed from the second storage part when the pin is removed from the first storage part.
System and method for attenuating the drying of ink from a printhead during idle periods
An ink delivery system of an inkjet printer selectively injects flushing fluid into a supply tube for ink into a printhead to form a mixture of flushing fluid and ink prior to a period of inactivity for the printhead. The ratio of the flushing fluid to the ink is determined by a controller using environmental conditions, ink characteristics, and a duration for the period of inactivity.
Device for measuring overflow from a gutter of a print head of an ink jet printer
A print head of a continuous ink jet printer, including, in a cover: means for producing at least one ink jet; means for separating drops of jets intended for printing from those that do not serve for printing; a slot, enabling drops intended for printing to get out; a recovery gutter (7) for drops not intended for printing, the recovery gutter comprising an ink recovery volume (12); at least one detection conductor (20), arranged inside the head; means (16) for detecting a variation in impedance of at least one of the detection conductors when ink (21) is present in contact with the conductor or with a dielectric layer (22) in contact therewith.
WASTE LIQUID CONTAINER AND ATTACHMENT
A waste liquid container includes a waste liquid introduction portion being coupled to a discharge portion when the waste liquid container is mounted on a mounting portion, an accommodation portion accommodating waste liquid discharged from the discharge portion, and a restricted portion having a contact portion configured to make contact with a restricting portion and restricting movement of the waste liquid container in a detachment direction opposite to a mounting direction by contact between the contact portion and the restricting portion in a state in which the waste liquid container is mounted on the mounting portion, wherein the contact portion is arranged at a position which does not overlap with a center of an opening of the waste liquid introduction portion in a vertical direction when seen from a side on which the waste liquid introduction portion is opened.
System and method for priming an ink delivery system in an inkjet printer
A jumper is configured to replace a printhead connected to an ink delivery system to enable a controller operating the ink delivery system to prime the ink supply conduit and the ink waste conduit of the ink delivery system. The jumper includes a pressure impedance element that simulates a pressure drop across the printhead when the printhead is connected to the ink delivery system. The jumper enables the ink supply conduit and the waste ink conduit to be primed with reduced risk of air being urged into the inkjets of the printhead once the printhead is reconnected to the ink delivery system.
INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS
An inkjet recording apparatus includes a recording head, a waste ink tray, an ink inflow section, an ink detecting section, and a controller. The recording head ejects ink. The waste ink tray recovers the ink. The ink inflow section is located on the waste ink tray. The ink flows into the ink inflow section. The ink detecting section outputs a detection signal indicating whether there is the ink or not. The ink inflow section has a first inflow opening and a second inflow opening. The second inflow opening is located at a position higher than a position of the first inflow opening. The ink detecting section detects whether or not the ink has flown into the second inflow opening. The controller, upon receiving the detection signal, detects that the first inflow opening is clogged.
WASTE INK TANK AND PRINTING APPARATUS
A technique capable of certainly suppressing adhesion of waste ink to hands, clothes, and the like during replacement of a waste ink tank is provided. There are included a container portion provided with an insertion port which a discharge member discharging waste ink can be inserted into and pulled out from and a shielding portion movable between a shielding position where the insertion port is shielded and an open position where the insertion port is opened.
