A head protection airbag device includes: an airbag configured to cover a window of a vehicle; and a synthetic resin case configured to store a folding completed body of the airbag. The case includes a case body, and a pressing piece formed to partially protrude downward from an upper edge side of the case body and formed to cover a vehicle inner side of the folding completed body. The pressing piece has a band-like outer shape having a width direction substantially along a front and rear direction, and is configured to be able to press the folding completed body toward the case body so that the pressing piece can be bent with respect to the case body and the pressing piece can maintain a folded shape of the folding completed body, the pressing piece formed substantially along a vehicle interior surface of the folding completed body.
Airbag module and vehicle
A knee airbag module for a motor vehicle. The airbag module has a housing which is preferably composed of plastic and has a housing base (12) and a wall extending from the housing base (12), forming an outlet opening. A receptacle is provided in a first wall section. An airbag is folded into the housing, an air generator (30) which has outflow openings located within the airbag, and a covering element which closes the outlet opening. This covering element has a main section (54) which lies substantially in one plane, at least one first end section (52) accommodated in the at least one receptacle, and a second end section (56) situated opposite the first end section (52), extends out of the plane of the main section (54) and is connected to the housing (10). The covering element (50) is produced from a blank.
AN AIRBAG UNIT FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY DEVICE
An airbag unit for a motor vehicle safety device includes an inflatable airbag and a cover. The inflatable airbag is formed of flexible material and provided in a rolled and/or folded package. The cover extends around at least part of the package. The cover includes a first cover portion and a second cover portion. The first cover portion is located on a first side of the package, and at least a region of the second cover portion being located on an opposite second side of the package. The second cover portion is substantially flexible and is connected to or formed integrally with the first cover portion, and the first cover portion has a predetermined stable shape and is relatively rigid in comparison to the second cover portion.
AIRBAG MODULE AND VEHICLE
A knee airbag module for a motor vehicle. The airbag module has a housing which is preferably composed of plastic and has a housing base (12) and a wall extending from the housing base (12), forming an outlet opening. A receptacle is provided in a first wall section. An airbag is folded into the housing, an air generator (30) which has outflow openings located within the airbag, and a covering element which closes the outlet opening. This covering element has a main section (54) which lies substantially in one plane, at least one first end section (52) accommodated in the at least one receptacle, and a second end section (56) situated opposite the first end section (52), extends out of the plane of the main section (54) and is connected to the housing (10). The covering element (50) is produced from a blank.
Fixing structure for inflator and airbag
An inflator and airbag are fixed by a fixing member including a lower fixing member that supports and fixes the inflator from a lower surface side of a plate portion. The lower fixing member has a tubular wall portion and a flange portion formed at an opening at one end. The tubular wall portion has an inner surface in a shape that is fitted to a circumferential wall surface, including a lower annular step surface, of the inflator housing. The flange portion has a plurality of bolt holes and abuts against a lower surface of the plate portion. The airbag and the lower fixing member are fixed with a bolt and a nut mounted through the airbag, the plate portion, and the flange portion of the lower fixing member.
Passenger airbag apparatus and method of manufacturing the same
According to a passenger airbag apparatus according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a left chamber portion and a right chamber portion protrude forward at a front side of an airbag so as to be spaced apart from each other in a left and right direction, and a groove tether pulls the front side of the airbag between the left chamber portion and the right chamber portion, and as a result, a groove is formed at the front side of the airbag between the left chamber portion and the right chamber portion.
PASSENGER AIRBAG APPARATUS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
According to a passenger airbag apparatus according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a left chamber portion and a right chamber portion protrude forward at a front side of an airbag so as to be spaced apart from each other in a left and right direction, and a groove tether pulls the front side of the airbag between the left chamber portion and the right chamber portion, and as a result, a groove is formed at the front side of the airbag between the left chamber portion and the right chamber portion.

Initiator for a gas generator of a vehicle safety device
An initiator for a gas generator of a vehicle safety device. The initiator is actuatable by an electrical power source and includes a cup defining an interior for receiving a pyrotechnic material, and a pair of electrical pins extending from the cup and arranged to be in reaction initiating communication with the pyrotechnic material through a bridge wire. The initiator additionally includes an over-molded body having a first end defining a pocket for receiving the electrical power source and a mounting ring extending around a least a portion of a periphery of the over-molded body. The initiator further includes an electrically conductive member providing electrical communication between the mounting ring and an inner diameter of the pocket. The electrically conductive member is molded in place within the over-molded body.
Initiator For A Gas Generator Of A Vehicle Safety Device
An initiator for a gas generator of a vehicle safety device. The initiator is actuatable by an electrical power source and includes a cup defining an interior for receiving a pyrotechnic material, and a pair of electrical pins extending from the cup and arranged to be in reaction initiating communication with the pyrotechnic material through a bridge wire. The initiator additionally includes an over-molded body having a first end defining a pocket for receiving the electrical power source and a mounting ring extending around a least a portion of a periphery of the over-molded body. The initiator further includes an electrically conductive member providing electrical communication between the mounting ring and an inner diameter of the pocket. The electrically conductive member is molded in place within the over-molded body.
