AIRBAG HOUSING COVER AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF, THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER COMPOSITION, MOLDED ARTICLE, AND COMPOSITE MOLDED ARTICLE
An airbag housing cover made of a thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising a propylene-based random copolymer and a styrene-based elastomer having a glass transition temperature in the range of ?65? C. or higher and ?45? C. or lower, wherein a total content of the propylene-based random copolymer and the styrene-based elastomer is more than 40% by mass and 100% by mass or less with respect to 100% by mass of the thermoplastic elastomer composition.
STITCHING FOR A PROTECTION DEVICE
In one example, an apparatus for helping to protect an occupant of a vehicle includes an inflatable vehicle occupant protection device having a deflated condition and an inflated condition. The protection device includes a first panel having a centerline and first and second openings. A second panel is secured to the first panel to define an inflatable volume. First and second self-adaptive vents are secured to the first panel over the first and second openings on opposite sides of the centerline for selectively releasing inflation fluid from the inflatable volume in response to penetration of the occupant into the protection device. A first reinforcing stitching extends through the first panel and around a portion of the first self-adaptive vent. A second reinforcing stitching extends through the first panel and around a portion of the second self-adaptive vent. Each of the first and second reinforcing stitchings is spaced entirely from the respective first and second self-adaptive vents.
Vehicle seat belt system having air distribution manifold
A vehicle seat belt system is provided. The vehicle seat belt system includes a seat belt comprising a tubular seat belt webbing defining a passageway and a plurality of exhaust openings. The seat belt system also has an air porous compressible material disposed within the passageway. The seat belt buckle has an air delivery device that supplies air to the seat belt, wherein the air porous compressible material allows air to flow through the passageway when compressed.
ACTIVE BOLSTER
An active bolster for a vehicle is provided, wherein the bolster comprises an expansible hollow interior that is inflatable and is self-supporting in both an inflated and in an uninflated position. The bolster has an inflator module for inflating the expansible hollow interior. The bolster has an inner wall for projecting inwardly into the vehicle and away from the side of the vehicle on inflation of the expansible hollow interior. The bolster may have a relatively non-expansible component located between a first expansible chamber and a second expansible chamber. The bolster may comprise an outer wall having an attachment portion for attaching the outer wall to a portion of the side of the vehicle.
THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER COMPOSITION, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME AND MOLDED BODY
A thermoplastic elastomer composition including: a crystalline olefin resin (A) having a melting point of 100 C. or more; an olefin resin (B) satisfying requirements (B-1) to (B-3); and an ethylene/-olefin copolymer (C), the weight ratio of (A)/((B)+(C)) is from 70/30 to 30/70, and the weight ratio of (B)/(C) is from 100/0 to 1/99: (B-1) the resin (B) has a main chain of an ethylene copolymer and a side chain of an ethylene polymer or a propylene polymer, the ethylene copolymer includes repeating units derived from ethylene and repeating units derived from at least one -olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, and the repeating units derived from the -olefin contained within the range of 10 to 50 mol % to the total repeating units in the main chain; (B-2) the melting point measured by DSC rom 60 C. to 170 C.; and (B-3) Tg measured by DSC from 80 C. to 30 C.
Airbag fabrics woven from slit-film polymeric tapes
Disclosed herein is the preparation of woven fabrics suitable for use in manufacturing vehicle airbags. Such fabrics are woven from a plurality of polymeric, e.g., polyamide, warp and weft tapes which have preferably been slitted, preferably in the machine direction, from a thermoplastic polymer film, and preferably from such a film which has been drawn at least in the machine direction. The resulting fabrics exhibit both the relatively low basis weight, stiffness and small packing volume typical of nylon films, and the relatively high tear strength and high damage tolerance of yarn-based woven airbag fabrics.
AIRBAG BASE FABRIC AND AIRBAG
Provided is an air bag base cloth constituted by a composite material obtained by coating fabric made of synthetic fibers with a synthetic resin. The average value of the 100% modulus in the warp direction of the fabric texture included in the composite material and the 100% modulus in the weft direction of the fabric texture included in the composite material is 50 N/cm or less. The 100% elongation recovery rate is 95% or more. The 100% elongation load air permeability is 0.1 L/cm.sup.2.Math.min or less both before and after thermal treatment at 100 C.
PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG HOUSING, MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR, AND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG FOR VEHICLE
