Airbag and method of producing weaving pattern for the same

An airbag includes a bag portion and a plain cloth portion. The bag portion is woven by double weave. The plain cloth portion is woven by plain weave at an edge of the bag portion. The bag portion and the plain cloth portion include warp threads and filling threads. The bag portion and the plain cloth portion are woven by a one piece woven method to satisfy: (1) each warp thread is not over four consecutive filling threads and each filling thread is not over four consecutive warp threads around a border between the bag portion and the plain cloth portion; and (2) every two adjacent warp threads are not over two adjacent filling threads and every two adjacent filling threads are not over two adjacent warp threads around the border.

An airbag package includes a one-piece woven airbag in a folded shape, a plurality of markers that are formed on the airbag, and a plurality of tape members that are bound around the airbag at locations of the markers for keeping the folded shape of the airbag. Each of the markers is composed of a weave structure that is different from that of surroundings in the airbag.

RESTRAINT SYSTEM

A restraint system includes a side curtain airbag including an inboard panel, an outboard panel, and a perimeter at which the inboard panel and the outboard panel are connected to each other. The side curtain airbag includes a main portion formed of part of the inboard panel and part of the outboard panel, and a folded-over portion formed of part of the inboard panel and part of the outboard panel. The main portion and the folded-over portion each include a dead zone spaced from the perimeter at which the inboard panel and the outboard panel are connected to each other. The side curtain airbag is folded so that the inboard panel of the folded-over portion abuts the inboard panel of the main portion. The main portion and the folded-over portion are attached to each other via the respective dead zones.

Hinge structure for air bag door

The present invention provides a hinge structure for an air bag door. The hinge structure includes a housing disposed inside a crash pad, an air bag disposed inside the housing, an air bag door disposed on a rear surface of the crash pad adjacent to the air bag, a hinge portion disposed on at least a portion of a rear surface of the air bag door, and a scrim member disposed at least a portion of the hinge portion, the housing and the air bag door, all the components constituting an air bag assembly, wherein the hinge portion is constructed so as to break when the air bag door is opened, and the scrim member serves to enable the air bag door to be opened while being connected to the housing after the hinge portion breaks.

Seat-mounted vehicle occupant restraint device

A vehicle occupant restraint device (10) comprises a pre-assembled head side airbag module (12) installed in a backrest (14) of a vehicle seat (16) and including an airbag (28) which deploys between two places adjacent transversely to the longitudinal vehicle direction and reduces lateral oscillation of a vehicle occupant toward an adjacent vehicle seat and/or an adjacent vehicle occupant. The head side airbag module (12) comprises a module housing (32) surrounding the airbag (28) at least partially in the installed condition which includes a guiding portion (34) extending on the side of the airbag (28) and exerting a force (F) upon the deploying airbag (28) so that during deployment the latter is pressed in the direction of the vehicle occupant to be restrained.

An airbag textile containing a woven textile having an inner side and an outer side, a primer layer on the outer side of the textile and a gas barrier layer on the primer layer. The primer layer contains a first thermoplastic polymer and has a surface roughness and a plurality of holes extending at least partially through the thickness of the primer layer. The gas barrier layer contains a second thermoplastic polymer and at least partially fills in the surface roughness and holes of the primer layer.

Airbag including reinforcing threads

A vehicle includes a door, a seat spaced from the door, and an airbag supported by the seat and inflatable to an inflated position between the door and the seat. The airbag includes a plurality of first threads and a plurality of second threads being a different type of thread than the first threads. The airbag includes a first portion having the first threads interwoven with each other. The airbag includes a second portion having the second threads interwoven with the first threads. The second portion faces the door in the inflated position.

HOLLOW-WOVEN BASE FABRIC

Provided is a hollow-woven air bag that is capable of maintaining high inner pressure properties even under high pressure after air bag expansion. This hollow-woven base fabric includes: a two-layer structured hollow-woven part (110) that comprises a first fabric layer (120) and a second fabric layer (130); and a joined strip (210) that is formed to be continuous by threads forming the hollow-woven part, wherein first continuous threads (121, 122) form the first fabric layer of the hollow-woven part, and extend to a first joined structure, the first fabric layer includes a first boundary orthogonal thread (123) closest to a boundary with the first joined structure, the first joined structure includes one or more orthogonal threads (223) that extend in a direction orthogonal to the first continuous threads, the first continuous threads are configured such that the respective floating/sinking positional relationships thereof with respect to the first boundary orthogonal thread and the orthogonal threads are not changed at locations between the first boundary orthogonal thread and the orthogonal threads, and second continuous threads (131, 132) are configured similarly.
