CLEANING UNIT AND METHOD FOR CLEANING AN OPTICAL SENSOR DEVICE
A cleaning unit for cleaning a sensor window pane of an optical sensing device, in particular for optical distance measurement, more in particular a LiDAR sensor device, of a motor vehicle. The cleaning unit comprises a wiper. Further, the cleaning unit comprises a drive unit which is arranged for wiping the wiper over the sensor window pane. Advantageously, the cleaning unit can be arranged for wiping a first portion of the wiper, such as a first wiper tip, over the sensor window pane from a first position towards a second position to wipe at least a first portion of the sensor window pane located between said first and second positions. The cleaning unit can then also be arranged for moving the wiper back from said second position substantially towards said first position without said first portion of the wiper wiping over said first portion of the sensor window pane.
CLEANING DEVICE FOR AN OPTICAL SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a device for cleaning at least one optical surface of a vehicle, including at least one rod which extends mainly along a longitudinal elongation axis. The rod including an element for spraying a cleaning fluid and a wiper blade configured to wipe the optical surface. The device further including at least one actuation means driven to move the rod in a first longitudinal direction of movement parallel to the longitudinal elongation axis, and in a second longitudinal direction of movement opposite to the first longitudinal direction of movement. The device additionally includes at least one means for limiting and/or compensating for at least one return force exerted on the rod.
PLACEMENT AND HEATING ENHANCEMENT OF WINDSHIELD WIPERS FOR VEHICLE PROTECTION, INCLUDING REARVIEW MIRROR WIPERS
A visibility enhancement system for a vehicle with heating conduit and a method of making a windshield wiper system where a wiper blade is configured to wipe windshield of the vehicle, a wiper blade assembly holds at least one end of the wiper blade, a motor is configured to move the wiper blade upon activation of the visibility enhancement system, and a heating conduit warms the surface of the windshield of the vehicle. The visibility enhancement system may include a wiper blade to wipe a side window of the vehicle, a pair of wiper blades to wipe a side rearview mirror. The heating conduit may comprise of any of the following: heating filaments that warms the wiper blade; heating filaments running within the windshield; an air vent that runs inside the wiper blade; and an air vent that runs parallel to the wiper blade.
Windshield touch and clean system
A cleaning device for a surface, such as a windshield of a vehicle, has a housing that holds a spray bar, rotatable brush and a wiper blade. An engagement mechanism moves spray bar, the brush, and the wiper blade out from a disengaged position within the housing to an engaged position outside the housing so that they can be used to clean, brush, and dry the surface. After the spray bar, brush, and wiper blade are used to, respectively, clean, brush, and dry the surface, the engagement mechanism then moves the spray bar, the brush, and the wiper blade to a disengaged position within the housing.
PRESSURIZED STRAIGHT LINE WIPER SYSTEM
Vehicle comprising a cab defining a driver compartment by a windshield, a wiping arrangement configured to wipe the windshield over a wiping area, the wiping arrangement comprising at least one wiper including a support movably mounted on the cab and a blade mounted on the support to contact the windshield along a contact length, wherein the wiping arrangement includes an urging system configured to urge the blade against the windshield, and wherein the urging system is configured to apply a pressure on the blade along the contact length by a pressurized fluid.
WINDSHIELD CLEAN SYSTEM
A cleaning device for a surface, such as a windshield of a vehicle, includes an active positioning system and a cleaning head. The active positioning system is configured to deploy from a storage position hidden from view within a covered storage space and to position the cleaning head upon the windshield. The active positioning system includes a first extension member and a second extension member that move relative to one another to position the cleaning head, and also move the cleaning head across the windshield along a path. The cleaning head can have a brush portion configured to agitate debris from the window, and a drying portion configured to dry the window after cleaning. The cleaning device can be controlled via a touch-screen display in the vehicle, enabling a user to direct that specific portions of the windshield be cleaned as desired.
Track-guided wiper system and method
A wiper system for use with a windshield includes a track guide, a wiper assembly, a drive mechanism and a wipe mechanism. The wiper assembly has a wiper arm attached at a first end thereof to a rotor rotatably disposed on a wiper carrier, wherein the wiper carrier is engaged with the track guide and is configured for translation therealong. The drive mechanism is connected with the wiper carrier and is configured for positioning the wiper carrier along the track guide. The wipe mechanism is connected with at least one of the rotor and the wiper carrier and is configured to cause the rotor to rotate, thereby causing the wiper arm to produce a wiping motion.
System and method for a sensor protection assembly
The present teaching relates to method and system for an assembly for protecting a sensor. The assembly includes a first structure having a rectangular prism and connected with a truncated tube, wherein the rectangular prism and the truncated tube have parallel longitudinal axes and the tube is truncated to yield a cross section having a norm that forms an angle with the longitudinal axis of the truncated tube and a second structure of a trapezoid prism having a longitudinal axis parallel to the longitudinal axes and with the first structure embedded therein. The second structure has a slanted surface in the front that meets the cross section of the truncated tube and has the norm of the cross section.
CONTROL FOR PASSIVE WIPER SYSTEM
A system includes a dome, a wiper assembly, a position sensor and a control device. The wiper assembly includes a wiper blade configured to rotate around the dome. The position sensor may be configured to send a signal to a control device when a wiper blade passes the position sensor. The control device may include one or more processors configured to receive the signal from the position sensor and determine a location of the wiper blade relative to the dome based on the received signal.
System and method for a sensor protection mechanism
The present teaching relates to method, system, medium, and implementation for sensor protection. It is determined whether a cleaning operation needs to be applied to a portion of a sensor assembly deployed on a vehicle and hosting a sensor therein to acquire information of a surrounding through the portion to facilitate autonomous driving. If the cleaning operation is to be applied, at least one type of cleaning is selected to be carried out by one or more devices mounted on the sensor assembly with respect to the portion. For each of the devices, needed control signal is generated for activating the device to perform a cleaning task the device is configured for and sent to the device to clean the certain portion of the sensor assembly in order to prevent degradation in the information acquired by the sensor through the portion.
