The universal coupling pin key is a fastening device. The universal coupling pin key forms a detent that attaches a first mechanical structure to a second mechanical structure. The universal coupling pin key further forms a simple tool that dislodges or prys apart a fastened mechanical structure formed from two components. The universal coupling pin key comprises a tool, a grip, a retractable tether, and a cable management system. The tool is the mechanical structure of the universal coupling pin key that fastens and detaches the mechanical structures. The grip is a handle used to manipulate the tool. The retractable tether attaches the tool and the grip to the cable management system. The cable management system deploys and retracts the tether. The cable management system further anchors the universal coupling pin key to an anchor point.

Retractable leash device and method therefor

A retractable leash device for animal control is disclosed, having a multitude of settable maximum leash line extensions providing leash line retraction at each set extension length. The device includes a leash line connectable to an animal, a housing having an axle and an outlet aperture, a reel having a hub and mounted on the axle, a reel biasing spring to retract the leash line, a maximum extension brake having an arresting member and a brake control. The leash line is wound on the reel and exits the housing through the aperture. The arresting member crosses the leash line thereinbetween the hub and the aperture. Upon engagement of the brake therewith the reel and extension of the leash line, an eventual interaction of the arresting member therewith the leash line prevents further extension of the leash line. The brake control engages and disengages the brake with respect to the reel.

ADAPTIVE TRAINING SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS

A system and method for training a student employ a simulation station that displays output to the student and receives input. The computer system has a rules engine operating on it and computer accessible data storage storing (i) learning object data including learning objects configured to provide interaction with the student at the simulation system and (ii) rule data defining a plurality of rules accessed by the rules engine. The rules data includes, for each rule, respective (a) if-portion data defining a condition of data and (b) then-portion data defining an action to be performed at the simulation station. The rules engine causes the computer system to perform the action when the condition of data is present in the data storage. For at least some of the rules, the action comprises output of one of the learning objects so as to interact with the student. The system may be networked with middleware and adapters that map data received over the network to rules engine memory.

Cord winding module

A cord winding module, comprising a rotary wheel (9) on which a cord (11) is wound and a stop button (4) working cooperatively with the rotary wheel. The cord winding module further comprises a spring wire (5) working cooperatively with the stop button as an elastic support device, and the stop button automatically brakes the rotary wheel under the action of the elastic force of the spring wire and prevents the rotary wheel from retracting the cord. The spring wire has an arc shape, or exhibits an arc shape when pre-pressed and deformed by the stop button.

RETRACTABLE STRAP

A strap may be removably attachable to a container. The strap may include a retractor having an opening, a retraction spring and a brake. The strap may further include a strip of flexible material attached to the retraction spring and extending through the opening of the retractor. The strap may also include clips attaching the retractor and distal end of the flexible material to the container. The strip of flexible material may move from a fully retracted position, where the distal end of the strip of flexible material is nearest the retractor, relative to the entire length of the strip of flexible material, to an extended position where the distal end of the strip of flexible material is furthest from the retractor. The retraction spring may bias the strip of flexible material into/toward the fully retracted position.

Dual-torsion-spring cord rolling device for window blind without exposed pull cord

A dual-torsion-spring cord rolling device includes driving and transmission units. The driving unit has first and second torsion spring gears engaged with each other, a first torsion spring connecting the first and second torsion spring gears, a wheel adjacent to the first torsion spring gear, and a second torsion spring connecting the second torsion spring gear and the wheel. The transmission unit has first and second transmission gears rotatable synchronously by the driving of the second torsion spring gear, and two lift transmission cords attached to the first and second transmission gears respectively.

Automatic diving tending system

The automatic diving tending system (ADTS) includes a buoyant sealed torsional apparatus having a plate with a perimeter seal to which is affixed a cover with a perimeter flange forming a dry buoyant cavity. On the plate is mounted a bridge supporting a drive shaft, a locking mechanism, a constant torque spring motor, and an overdrive transmission linkage. A tether spool apparatus is mounted on the exterior bottom side of the plate. It includes a frame with a guide, a spool, and coaxial connecting structure that connects to the drive shaft. A line wound on the spool that is pulled off tightens the spring motor, enabling the full length of the line to be rewound back onto the spool and to be stopped at any time by a diver.

Unequal-torque coil spring and spring motor thereof

An unequal-torque coil spring and a spring motor thereof which is adapted for a curtain set that can automatically fold back a curtain; the same provides a feedback torque that responds to different stages of a curtain-folding working process and generates various corresponding torque in response, as each of the different stages requires a different force. Consequently, the curtain can be folded back at a steady speed, and positionally fixed at any height when the curtain is lowered.

Tape Measure with Epicyclic Gear Drive for Tape Retraction

A tool, such as a tape measure, including a spring-based retraction system is shown. The retraction system utilizes an epicyclic gear train coupled between the tape blade winding reel and a rotating arbor or axle within the tape measure. A spiral spring has an outer end coupled to the reel and an inner end coupled to the axle. The gear train may be a reduction gear train such that the axle rotates slower than the reel. By coupling the spiral spring between the gear train input and gear train output, high energy density springs may be used, which may allow for decrease in housing size, increase in tape length or thickness for a given housing size, and/or advantageous retraction speed control.
